Where are our JOSS experts?

It seems like there were versions with plain maple veneers, green veneers, and red veneers. I am not sure if they were the same model with different veneers, or considered separate models.
I lean towards same model with different color veneers. The diamond catalog models 3 and 5 had sub-models depending on the wood. I did not observe that in later catalogs. I am certainly not an expert.

Here are some with dates. I have a 1985 also just not in these pictures.
Interesting. Yours shows 1982 and 1983 with plain black collars when the Diamond Series was being build with dashes. Yours also shows what looks like a Diamond Series on the far right. do you remember the year it was made?

That photo is deceptive. The dashed collar is a Joss Nick Varner. They are not in order by date. That picture came about from a previous conversation with someone else where Joss was using a rounded outer veneer and sharp inner veneers. Here are the related pictures.

Yes, the Varner Joss series had the center dashed joint rings, as did the A series. The more interesting part is that you have the plain black collar with date earlier than 1984, which I had not seen before. Maybe the Diamond Series and those earlier ones were being built concurrently to go from one to the other, I'm not sure.

The Diamond series catalog price list I have has a date of 1982 on it. It also has a model 11, 12, and 14 that are not explicitly pictured. Maybe my catalog is missing a page.

Those 80's Joss are the best looking Joss cues. To bad they stopped making classic cues wit nice sharp points.
But I really don't like the big logos on the joint.

they still make sharp point cues. never stopped. just have to specify. most of their current over-$800 cues have sharp points.

With a big ugly gap between them.
I couldn’t find a single cue on Joss website that I would want to have, of course it’s just my taste and doesn’t reflect anything about Joss cues and design.
I like the CoM cue, it a classic design and more of a memorabilia paying homage to the movie, and still, those gaps…
They have some five points cues with smaller gaps but 5 points are thin points and they are too similar to my Jacoby

Can one of our Joss experts (SROBER40, CHOPDOC, GARCZAR) confirm the year/model of this JOSS for me? I saw one like it on ebay being sold from Japan, but the listing did not identify the model. This was a one-owner, all original cue, bought new from Cue and Cushion in STL decades ago...and, more or less, stored away until the owner passed. Two shafts and in really nice shape. (Also scored two Fellini cases with it as well)

I thought the same. I dont like the big gap. Then I saw one recently without the big gap.

I'll see if I can find it again. I don't know if it's a specific model, or custom, but I saw it.

If u talk to Steven he'll do what u want. I've seen a couple one-offs with old school points. You just have to be very specific when ordering.

There are a few but they are 5 points and 6 points
