Could someone tell me if Mr. Bert Schrager is still making cues and how to contact him! I also think Harvey Martin, and Herman Rambow-made the best custom cues for players. For any billiard Games,and Pool related. thanks in Advance. I would like to purchase a Schrager, mark

Yes i agree Bert Schraegher is in the same class as Harvey Martin and Herman Rambow. A class of their own.

Last I heard Bert was living in Lake Isebella CA, and had sold his Cue Building Biz to someone else. He is out of Cue Building.

I had lunch with the Schragers about two weeks ago when they were in town for Bert's eye appointment at UCLA.

They were extemely kind enough to bring me some of their memoribilia to put up in my pool room.

Bert turned 84 on August 31 !! Happy belated Birthday Bert.....

Unfortunately Bert is having a real tough time with his eye sight and is legally blind.

Pat is going in for surgery to have 4 or 5 vertebrae fused in her neck in a couple of weeks.

He is alive and kicking, but no longer making cues.

He sold his shop to Tom O'Conner about 2.5 - 3 years ago.

Schragers come up for sale every once and a while. Keep an eye out on here and eBay.

I have a few of his cues and wish I could afford more.

i had this re-finished by bert ,ie, add the "by schrager" ivory disk, a few years ago but he never got around to making any shafts as he fell ill..

i have 2 unfinished shafts which are unusable...

it's $1,000.- for the butt.

I'm sorry to hear about Berts health. I heard a rumor about this but now I know it's true.

He made me a cue years ago and I still play with it. It paid for itself the very first week I got it. Happy belated birthday Bert.

Small world Frank!!! I saw the cue that you were using at HB a couple of weeks ago and my guess was that it was one of Bert's. I think it had his micarta joint??

Then I was at Ariel's yesterday and he mentioned that you still shoot with a "by Schrager" cue!!!

Normally they do not put 80 Y/O's in Prision for civil Crimes. But Bert shall we say changed how he did business in the end of his CAREER! Shame on you BerT

Despite all the people who spoke up for him or commented, you seems to chose to just listen to the people who agreed with you.

I paid thousands for a cue to him which he never delivered. But still i hold him in up most respect. not only for his accomplishments, his contributions, his status as a hall of fame cuemaker.

Think about it. The pain of having to sell away your wholes life passion just for the sake of surviving does it not hold a candle to your loss of a few pieces of stick?

The man will be a century old in less then a decade! Growing old and die is something we all will face. Can't you just let it go?

Perhaps talking to his wife about this would be more prudent. He's 84 now and retired. I don't think his intention was to steal anyone's money or shaft wood. Health, it seems, got in the way. With that I would talk to them directly and work out a solution instead of slamming him on here.

I understand that you were burned, but not being able to let it go after 8 or so years??

I don't think or condone the way some cue makers deal with people and I am truly sorry that you got burned by Bert.

I would be pissed also, but I can also let stuff like that go.

I would just learn from it and move on.

Hopefully you can do the same someday.

I agree Jay. It is a personal choice on how we live our lives. Honesty and integrity are paramount to me, others choose differently. Screw over and take advantage of whoever they can.

I met Bert many years ago and only recently have become friends with him and Pat. They have always treated me honestly and fairly.
