I hope this thread does not turn into a rumor mill. Since the IPT I have not heard anything about kid d. Is he still playing? Is he okay? I ask because I think he is one of the better personalities in the sport.

Just saw him play!

Danny Bassavich just played in Mike Zuglands Joss NE tour stop in Albany New York and I understand that this was his second tournament since his heart attack. Danny however is not playing like his "old" self because he missed alot and got out of line frequently. I also observed that he was sweating profusely. Hopefully he will come back 100% but he will have to lose weight.

pool’s biggest sensation? Huh?

[...]and becomes professional pool’s biggest sensation since Minnesota Fats.[...]

I also talked with Danny for a few minutes at the Joss Tour in Albany. He told me that he is now eating healthy and feels great and he is losing weight. I believe 30 lbs is what he told me he has already lost. I also asked him about the movie and the progress it is making. He told me that the original script, written by the gentleman who wrote the magazine article, was rejected and is now being written by a couple of people who work for Tom Hanks production company. I am 99% sure that is who he told me....anyway....Danny looks good and he also claims that he is not 100% yet with the strength and stamina part. but he says he will get there......good Luck Danny. we are all pulling for you......mike

He is so fun to watch. He has such a great energy and a pure love for the game. I hope all is well with Kid Delicious, and I am sure we will hear from him soon.

Hey Kid

Hope your on the road to recovery.

I met Danny a couple of years ago at Pete Fusco's near Philly. I asked him to autograph my Q. U couldn't have found a nicer guy. He told me that some day his auto would b worth some $, and laughed. I thanked him and was gonna walk away, not wanting to b a pain. He said "hey wait, I'll tell u some stories." Well, 15 minutes later (and many great :D stories later) he made me feel like his best bud. Who knows how long he would have kept talk'n, but they called his name for a match. Yes, he is one of pool's real life characters ;) and a really great guy. Get well soon Kid.

danny played in a blaze tour event about a month ago. it was his first event back and he actually played pretty well. he was in good spirits and personality wise,, was his normal self. i would say his game was alittle off that day, but not terribly. the bigest thing that seemed off to me that day was his break, it wasnt going well for him, and it was a rack your own event. other than that though he was getting out alot and played his way through a really tough field in a very long tournament. im not 100% sure but i think his two losses were to David abraham and chavez, who ended up winning the tournament.

Uh-oh... that's usually not a good thing.
