Where is the pool community HEALTHIEST in the US

Tramp...I was just there a couple weeks ago. The local rumor is that the young owner of Bass Pro Sports (HQ in Springfield) wants to open a nice upscale pool room and bowling alley combo. He loves pool (he is J. Lee's biggest sponsor), and certainly has the dough.

Southwest Missouri is not doing so well. Lots of bars with lots of bar tables, but bonafide pool rooms are few and far between.
I hear the St. Louis area is good, but as for Kansas City, I do not know. :smile:

As far as Michigan goes, there are a few good rooms around Detroit, but not much else in the rest of S. MI anyway. There is The Playground in Kalamazoo, but it is a dive as the owner cares not a lick about the equipment ("I'm the only game in town" is his justification). The local room in Battle Creek closed a month or so ago...again, another owner who could care less about pool (and a former 'pro player' no less). Somebody posted not too long ago about a room in Three Rivers or Niles, but I haven't been there yet.
