Where to buy a snooker cue?

Hello my fellow poolians. I was wondering where I could buy a snooker cue online. I have found a few places and was wondering what would be a good cue to buy. Any suggestions/info on snooker cues would be great!

You can't go wrong with a peradon, they also now have the cue-wizard where can fully design your own cue, great fun. Off course the non-plus-ultra would be a John Parris custom, which starts at about 200 pounds, for 300 you allready have lotsa choices.

I use to play allot of Snooker in the mid to late 80's. I used my Cue, but had my Cue maker build me a Snooker Shaft for it. It was Longer and thinner then my regular shaft. It worked out great, cause I always had it with me, and did not have to carry to many Cues.:)
 
Ditto to what Captain Hook said. If you are just a casual snooker player, a special shaft for your existing cue is SWEET.

Thanks for the advice guys but Parris might be a little bit pricy at the moment. Would buying a cue like one of these two be unbearably bad?

Oh and I do play with a P2, would just getting a Z shaft be good enough? Have any of you had experience with a Z and snooker? Sorry for all the questions.

A while ago I was considering taking up the game as I have access to two unused snooker tables. I sent approximately five e-mails to the top snooker cue builders in Great Britian. NONE ever replied!! So I said to hell with it.

Dufferin's are generally ok cues, top of the range house cues, with a good tip you should be ok. I checked the prices of the peradon cues, and they seem to have gone WAY up lately. The cheapest one-piece they have used to be 55 pounds now it's 82, for a two piece 122 minimum, so forget those. If you want something cheaper, Riley are also very nice production cues, I don't know if they have dealers in the US.
Smith and Wesson is a great choice for guns, I own a nice model 29 .44 magnum, wouldn't buy one of their cues.

edit: I have no experience with the new Dufferins made in China. I'd try to find a store that still has some Canadian made ones since they are proven quality, without knocking on the new ones I just haven't tried them.

Was John Parris one of them? Two snooker friends of mine ordered cues with him a few years back, went smooth. The waiting time was a few months I believe, not sure though.

I was looking through some of our cue companies that we order cues from. I remember seeing a Smith & Wesson snooker cue. A customer of ours ordered it. I don't know how good of a cue it is.

However it is a good looking cue. What is odd though is that at the end of the butt it's notched out or basically not a full cylinder.

That is not odd, it's normal for a snooker cue.

Thr flat was originally used to slide on the bed of the table, they used the cue the other way round. It just never went away with English cues.
 
i have a dufferin snooker cue for sale, looks basically like the ash expert you have there but it doesnt have the points. the cue is practically brand new. pm me if you are interested.
