which chalk is the best?

im using the master billards chalk, the premium one, the one which costs .5$.
ive tried different chalks, silvercup, triangle, brunswick, and some local ones. master for me works well.
 
I use Master, the tan colored chalk. It's ok...not great, but ok. I use it because I dont want my shafts to stain and darken.

However, I have a couple of boxes of Balabushka chalk...and this chalk seems to spread better on my cue tips when I tried it out. If ever we get to meet locki, I'll give you some... that is, if you use blue chalk.

I use Balabushka and it works great. Seems to hold a little better for me as I am notorious for forgetting to chalk as often as I should.

Master, i have tried a few different chalks but master works best. Someone on here was recommending silvercup chalk but i found myself miscueing way more with silver cup and it doesnt spread as well.
 
About 20 years ago, I met a guy who said he worked at Tweetens making chalk. He said Master and Triangle are the same chalk with different labels. He also said that the NTC was a mixture of those brands, after they were poured, with new powder which then became NTC. (not all the details...just the highlights info)
The reason that some boxes of Master and Triangle are harder or softer is in the storage of the boxes...areas of moisture or dryness...and the age on the shelves.

hi nbc! yeah, im using the tan master too! so it stands that most people use master as well.
ive never heard of that balabushka chalk, but ive heard of the tisan chalk, its made locally. they say its better than any chalk out there. i think it was made from someone in mindanao.
 
Blue Master ........... The light green Master is different and way to fine.

As long as it stays on the tip and doesn't cause me to mis-cue, I really don't care about brands.

Most decent rooms won't let you use any Tan, Brown, Red, or off colored chaulk on their tables. If they have cloth other than green they don't fit the decent room list in my opinion anyway. They also have no powder or allow it for hands(not needed if you keep you're hands clean!).

I've tried Tisan.

It has a tendency to be soft and cakey. The white color, though, means that it wont leave your shaft dirty.

I dont use it anymore though. I found the softness to be a bit weird.

also, nbc, and other filipino pool players here, im wondering why there are different versions of master chalks here. the one with the premium writing on it costs 20-25 pesos, while the one with the us logo in it, but with no premium writing in it costs only 9-12 pesos.
which one are you guys using?
to everyone: does your master chalk have a us logo on it?

i've tried tisan too and find them soft. i bought a dozen of those, grey ones. imo i find it more effective in medium- hard tips like talismans where firmer chalks like masters seem to fall off.
But i use soft tips (master and blue diamonds) so i use triangle which is a tad less softer than tisans :)
