Which Cue with a $150 budget?

I've only been playing for 3 months and it's time to buy a cue. There is a used Lucasi L-2008 at the local pawn shop that is priced at $129.99 I was looking at. Also thinking about a new Schmelke M series or one of Dale Perry's ebay cues... Any thoughts?

It will be a couple weeks before I'm ready to buy something. If I can find one used for $150 or less I would probably jump on it. If not, then it will be one of the others I listed or maybe a used McDermott G series or used Joss. I just want something to learn with for a couple years, then I would be willing to upgrade the shaft or buy something in the $400-$600 range if I'm still playing then.

Prulhiere.

I would also seriously consider used in that price range.

I just got one and I REEEEEAAAAALLLLLLY like the way it plays, and looks.

Hellova cue for the $

I like the way it plays better or as well as the Joss and Pechauer I had before it.

Definitely the Schmelke M Series. They are a great value for the money. I recommend the No. 4 (3/8 x 10) joint.

Prulhiere - custom cue, great price, positive reviews on 'hit'

If you want something off the shelf Pechauer made some Pro series black plain janes that Seybert's/AZB Marketplace sells for 150-160 shipped. FWIW I've had one for several months now and am pleased with the quality and feel, just ordered a OB Classic Pro for it too (I was in the same boat as you earlier this year except I was coming back to pool after a long hiatus)

Budget Cue

The SP that Mueller's sells at $125 is a super buy. Good wood, pro taper and well made. True sneaky with hidden 5/16 x 14 joint. Sweet cue Cue is now $140 but is still a hell of a lot of cue for money

Thanks for all the info guys, but i ended up getting a used Mcdermott M72D off of ebay for $151. It sould do fine for a cue to learn on.

Not a bad choice!

If others are searching in same price range, I would also vouch for the Prulhiere.

If you raise your budget, you cannot go wrong with an (used) Erwin cue.

not yet a few months to a few years

Dont buy ANYTHING wait a few months to a few years , . Bad times coming! If Bahama wins(god forbid)we will have a dictatorship and a fascist nation. If Romney wins we are still in for a bad recession. I am the Truman.
