Which Do You Like Better - Caption or No Caption?

If you wanted that type caption I think "You ain't special, even my own Mother would have to...post up" is so much better.
But many of the people who see this shirt are going to take the "post up" to mean "let's gamble" and the mother line is just going to be confusing and seem unrelated which is why I think I might prefer it without the caption.

I also had " Nothing Personal........ I Make My Own Mother Post Up!"
That is better than what you had before, but it would need to be "I'd make my own mother post up" or "I would make my own mother post up" because the way you have it now is like the person already gambles with their mother (which of course isn't true and sounds dumb) instead of how it would be if they did ever gamble with their mother. Hope that makes sense.
In any case I like my mother line from the previous post much better (not being biased either). But I still don't like any of them for that shirt the way it is laid out. The only way any of them would work is if the entire line including the "post up" part was a similar font size and style so it read as one complete sentence/thought. When you have "post up" so large and distinctly separate it reads as "let's gamble" and none of the other wording goes with it. For it to work it has to be all similar font size so it is read as a single sentence. That's my opinion.
For non English AZers what a mother post up means?
Keep the input coming guys, I really appreciate it, good or bad. It's kinda interesting to note that almost all who have voted say NO CAPTION from AZ Billiards Forum, but on Face Book where the majority of my regular buyers are at, say YES CAPTION....
I ended up putting the phrase " Nothing Personal, I'd Make My Own Mother" then the words POST UP in big lettering.....
It's already being produced as of this morning...
But again, I can always tweak and do something different on another shirt, so keep the suggestions coming if you want.... :smile:

Way trashier with the caption. The logo was slick, the caption says "look at me, I need even more pool attitude on my back"
Good luck with the sales, but the caption makes it a non starter for me.
Less is more. Leave the quotes off the back of the shirt.
Post up is in reference to when you play someone for money, and before the gambling match both players put the money somewhere else so that they both know where it is. This is called "posting up the money". Sometimes they will have another person that they both trust hold the money, or sometimes they will just put it somewhere where they can both see it and both have access to it like on top of the light over the table.
The reason you would post up is so that you know you will be getting paid if you win. It is somewhat common for people to gamble when they have no money to pay if they lose (called "firing an air barrel", so named because it is somewhat like shooting a gun with no bullet). An example would be if you play someone for money and then when you win they tell you that they don't really have any money and they can't pay you.
Posting up the money does two things. It makes sure your opponent actually has the money with him to pay if he loses, and it also makes it difficult for him to try not to pay you even if he did have the money in his pocket. So when the money is posted up before the match what happens when you win is you just take the money off of the light or you go to the person who is holding the money so they can give it to you.
One of these T-shirts says "I make my own mother...post up", and what that means is that I don't trust anybody and will never gamble unless the money is posted up first. I don't make exceptions and even if I gambled with my own mother I would make her post up the money first. This phrase is supposed to make a point but with some humor.
as you can tell, having the slogan (or not) will appeal to different segments of the pool market. You should concentrate on the segment that actually buys shirts........
A lot of us with comments about how to make the "classiest" shirt (including me) rarely if ever buy a pool shirt, so you should factor that into your decisions.
