opinions can change in a hurry!

I actually question the results here. Haha. I'm not sure what exactly this question implies, but this would be like asking.... would you rather negotiate a price for your house really well, and get a low selling price for it, or negotiate very poorly, and get a great price and have a sap buy it. Haha. Cmon.

My opinion can change in a hurry. When I'm eating three squares, paying bills, and have nice padding in the bank I'd rather play great. When winning was the difference between eating that day or not it was all about the dollars.

I tend to lose focus when I'm not shooting well and end up playing a lot of two way shots, which just makes it look like I missed and got a lucky roll. I had a much better player than me in a tournament tell me after a few two way shots that I "could mess up a wet dream".

Keep working on those two way shots and always look disgusted at missing or make a little apologetic wave to your opponent when you miss. Those were my bread and butter shots for many years. Best to let your opponent go on thinking those are bad rolls.

Some of my best memories over 56+ years of play are matches that I played my best and lost to someone playing better. In fact, maybe the best game of 8-ball I ever played in a tournament involved 19 safeties, and six BIHs, and I lost! When I play poorly and win, I figure it balances out the times when I played well and lost. I never feel bad when I play well, win or lose.
