Which GC is this?

I know it's a small picture, but can anyone maybe tell me which Gold Crown series this is? It is for sale locally, and I'm about to turn my Garage into a pool room, and I would love to just drop the money once and have a nice table.

Probably a GC1, but maybe a GC2 that has been partially painted. GC1s are way more common than the 2s. I have a 2.

is the nameplate plastic or metal?

general rule of thumb, if its plastic its a GC I, if its metal, its a GC II.

Also, I can't tell from the picture, but are the casters adjustable? I believe this was another difference between the I and the II.

Maybe RKC will jump in and elaborate.

It's not partially painted, that is how they came; with white legs (if I remember right).

It definitely looks like a GC I or II. I think the GC II had adjustable table feet, where the GC I didn't. Almost identical tables. Either way, both have "pinned slates" making them much better than a GC III.

Thanks a lot. They are asking 1900 for it. . .not sure what that equates to in the market right now. I will probably go take a look at it this weekend. Thinking the "one and done" approach for my garage rather than wanting a new nicer table later. There are a couple of Olhausen tables on CL locally for 500 bucks, but I've not looked at them yet.

Actually, It looks like there might be ashtrays built into the corner castings. It's not totally clear from the picture. If there are ashtrays built in the corners,it's definitely a GC II. Also,if the feet are adjustable, it should be a GC II,unless it has been updated as most do with these. Either way, an awesome table as long as the slate is in good shape.By the way, check out ebay, there are some tables out there that are very nice as well. GL

I like my Olhausen but if I'd had/have the room, it would have been a Gold Crown in a heartbeat!

Looks like a GCI to me. Try to get it for 1300. It's a buyers market. I just found a mint GCI for $1100. That's a table you will have for a life time. So solid!
Get it!

I grew up with that exact table in our basement.....loved it!

what ever price you pay remember, you will most likely need to install new rubber on the rails......which isn't crazy expensive, but at the same time you can have the installer tighten up the pockets.....I had mine wedged to 4-3/8" and they play perfect.

Also, wipe down EVERY piece of the table especially the returns if it has them...

good luck,

G.
