I've been playing for 19 yrs and but problem that I have, I kind of guess at contact point when aiming. I recently bought a CTE/Pro One dvd which by Stan Shuffett. I watched that dvd like 6-8 times.....I underdstand it but hard to execute it. So I am asking is there any instructor with a dvd got a better explaining and detail on how he seeing and shooting the balls. Please help with any information you may have. Thanks.

Do you know that he can answer your questions directly? He is posting in the Aiming forum.

Watching the DVD is not enough, you really have to spend a significant amount of time on the table shooting the reference shots in the video until you get the visuals down. It is not clear from your post how much time on the table you have put forth on this.

Also it is best to start with the manual cte process first and get that nailed down, before you jump into pro-one.

Spend a couple of hours with an aiming instructor in person.

What City do you live in?

Thanks,

I did and I practice almost everyday of time I can get. I'm doing everything. I find the 2 visual lines then when I lock in, but the problem I am having to where to pivot at. I am working with this guy I know and he learned from Hal Houle but Stan and Hal do same thing but little different between them 2. I try CTE also trying this Hal Houle thing from this guy only seeing Edge, quarter, center then quarter then edge.....so left to right or can say 1,2,3,4

I think you will find that many instructors who teach CTE kinda put their own 'spin' on it. I think this is due to some part that Hal would not give anybody 100 percent of the information, because he wanted them to discover some things themselves. (according to various posts by Spidey and others).

I think you should contact Stan directly with your questions, as he would be best equipped to explain to you his version of CTE and Pro One. If that doesn't work for you Randy can help.

Agree, contact Stan, I'm sure he would be happy to answer some questions. As would several of us on here that use Stan's system, just look over in the aiming forums and you'll find tons of information and contact info.

To my knowledge, no one else currently has a DVD on CTE aiming. Ron Vitello will soon be coming out with a DVD on a closely related aiming method.

But from your inquiry, I'm not sure you're really asking just about CTE or align-and-pivot aiming methods. There are a number of other DVD's with good information about aiming methods. One of those other methods might even work better for you; the only way to know is to try them. A couple names you might investigate are Joe Tucker and CJ Wiley.

Jpool1985...Just FYI, you do not have to pivot with CTE. I teach it without any pivot at all. If you're interested in learning this in person, PM me with your contact info. I will be down in TX soon.

Jpool1985,
Thank you for your work with CTE/PRO ONE.
Keep in mind that the manual pivoting section of my DVD is only foundational for understanding CTE pivot type aiming.
MANUAL PIVOTING IS NOT NECESSARY DURING PLAY.
The PRO ONE section of my DVD combines CTE with the natural left and right movements of professional players MINUS the manaul pivot.
So, PRO ONE is a SEE and SHOOT system based on extremely accurate OB aimpoints. NO CUE PIVOTING IN PRO ONE!
I am quite willing to assist you by phone with any questions.

think i moving on

I think I'm moving on to different dvd beside Pro One CTE thing. I've been doing it for 4 weeks now still nothing clicking to me. I just stick with the aiming I do, until someone come out with a dvd that actually tell, explain, how it working, also closer look at what they doing with the cue stick and looking at CB and Obs. I'm still struck on this 2 lines visions bullshit and everyone looking at me like wtf he doing? also telling me play your game play your own aim way. I do play well way I am but kind of guessing but......i make balls about 75% of time but other 25% sometime miss, I wanna be precise on aiming :frown:

The Secret Art of Pool by Lee Brett

Buy it now! You will not regret it. You want aiming? Lee makes it easy. I have a lot of pool videos. Some are better than others. His is the best to get you pocketing balls. I thought I had come to a point where I wouldn't be able to improve my ball pocketing. Wrong. I watched Lee's video, went to the pool room and started making shots with confidence that I had my doubts about before. Lee has also been quick to answer my questions. We need more people like Lee here in the USA. He's good for pool.

I must agree with this post.

Lee's DVD is by far the best on the market today. I also have read that Jerry Besereths (spelling) is also very helpful.
