Which is BEST cuecase? Whitten? Laara? Phi eastwood? Rusty Melton? Jill Hawk? Or?

Phil Eastwood sits at a different table than the others you mentioned. He is a fantastic cue case builder and the most artistic of any others you mentioned. Phil is on the top rung of the cue case makers ladder looking down not up like other makers.

Define "best". It means different things to different people.
I don't consider my case to be anything other than something to protect my valuable cues. From that perspective, I can't find anything better than a JB rugged.
There are prettier cases out there. Beautiful artistry and exotic materials, but if someone forced me to drop my cues off a rooftop, I'd want them in my JB.

Back around 1990 I was in a high speed car accident on a highway. My chemistry professor was in the same accident, we were both on the way to the university that morning. My car was totaled and I was taken to the hospital. My Joss was in the back seat in a Fellini case. My car was taken to the wrecker yard, I went to see it. No cue.
Later, maybe a week, I was back at school and went to my professor's office. He said he saw the case, didn't know what it was, but it looked important, so he took it and kept it for me. He pulled it out from under his desk. I was stunned, and elated of course. I showed him what was in it. He had heard I played pool with one of the biology professors but he was still surprised. He had not opened it and had no idea what was in that case.
The cue and case were fine. Same cue and case I have today.

Impossible to answer. All mentioned are great in their own way. So much personal preference.

For the record, I have been using a J&J case for the last 15 years (about $30 back when) and it has served me admirably.
I’d argue Hager made the most protective cases by a long shot. They were heavy but the protection was unmatched in my opinion.
Excellent Fellini style cases. I have one in genuine elephant.
Currently an unreliable supply of them new. He's back on eBay selling.

What do you mean by this? He isn't reliable to work with on an order? Or are you talking about resellers/flippers?
