Which is the best Pool Room in Vegas

In December i will stay for a few days in Vegas.

I was thinking that Vegas should be THE town for Billard.
Will never forget the Scene in Color of Money where the Camera slowly showed all the tables in the Tournament Room in that overall view.

I need your tipps. What is the most impressive Pool Room there.
The Place with the most tables in one Room and the best atmosphere.

agreed. Plenty of action at Cue Club, too, though. Best atmosphere I'd say Mickey's, and it's not too far from the strip. They have lots of people, not too much action, but some, and it's in a much nicer neighborhood than Cue Club. It feels a lot more suburban and safe than Cue Club. They definitely have the best eye candy.

If you want a smaller, quieter room, Club Charleston is a good option.

Pool in Vegas sucks, the action is knocked by the casino's. Cuetopia was the spot but its long gone, I dont know where is best, I play at home or Mickeys around the corner.

I live about a mile from Mickeys and its ok in there, safe?? maybe so. i have seen a few things happen-not to me.

I own 2 office buildings across the street like 200 yards from Cue Club its a bad area but suprisingly not to dangerous, we had 700 people working there in 50,000 sqft working 24/7 for 11 years and never had a person get rolled in the parking lots once, and only one broken window in 11 years. It looks worse than it is, its so busy there that nothing goes down-thats my guess. Also the Thai resteraunt 3 dooes down from Cue Club is great!!

in the color of $$$ the tournment room was at Resorts International in Alantic City, just a tempoary torunment room 2700 miles away from Vegas, I have seen similar tournments here years ago, the Sands "Last call for 9ball" in 91 comes to mind, Archer won that one, I went 2 and out, Should have won the first set but the table was bad and a ball popped out of the pocket hill/hill and i lost-next set i won maybe 3 games-ouch!!!

actually I knew the guy, we gambled once before that and I won but it was close.

the tables had drop pockets and on the side pocket the cup lip was sticking out infront of the pocket facing, i got a little funny on the 4 it was 8" from the pocket, I had to cut it into the side of the side pocket right at the thing that was sticking out-I knew there was a chance of the ball popping out-it did, the rest of the shots were stop shots, the ball went in and out landing infront of the hole, I got to the hill first too, it was just a bad beat, the next match I got drilled, it was fun for sure.

The big national league tournaments are alright, or so I hear. Hit up the Cue Club during the BCA nationals and you'll find some action...maybe not quite as expensive as you'd like.

I have heard that Vegas sucks for pool.

Lotus of Siam, and yes I assume it's great. Thai isn't my type of food but I have quite a few buddies who swear by that place and always go there when they come out.

My opinions on Cue Club and Mickey's are mostly superficial--just the type of people who I see in and around each place, especially later at night. For example, I often seen random homeless/drifter/sketchy people wondering the parking lot at Cue Club if I leave there, even as early as 10/11pm, whereas I never have at Mickey's.

Club Charleston is a smaller pool hall, with 12 tables. One bar box, seven 8-footers and four 9-footers. Much of their business comes from in-house leagues that they have five nights a week, played on the 8-footers.

when my foot is ok in a few weeks lets hooke up over there I just want to check it out, i'm NOT a league player but since i havent been there its interesting for me.

Little off topic....Was reading this thread and saw a mention of a good food spot in Vegas.....I got one for yas to try for GOOD Mexican...

Right across the street from the old cue-topia location. If you don't eat there,
get a cactus juice drink. Place looks like hell from the outside' but has very good Mexican food. Enjoy...wish i could get me a cactus juice there!

I thought it was at Navy Pier in Chicago? I'm talking about the room where they had that overhead shot when everyone broke in unison.

If you look real close you can see John Zaksas (very good Chicago player and part owner of Red Shoes Billiards) breaking down at the bottom of the screen. If I remember right, you can see his hands go up in frustration as the balls roll all funny. I'm pretty sure most of those tables had plywood for slate.

Anyway I could be wrong but that's what I heard. I was off at college when all that was going on.

There are many huge casinos in Las Vegas but none of them has permanent pool tables, so far as I know. The Riviera is a not-so-huge casino that is likely to have a lot of pool tables, but only at certain times. During the big national league tournaments, there are over 200 tables in the Riviera. Nearly all of them are 7-foot.
