? which is the preferd cue (sort after)

Color me NEGATIVE, but I see a RED FLAG, as the ad copy on both Q’s say:

“UNCHALKED AND IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION”

Ad Copy does not say NEW, NEVER HIT, or NEW.

I ask are the Q’s Preowned with NEW TIPS????

With one being a 98 and the other being a 96 I don't think I would believe that either of them has never hit a ball!

Neither are rare. SW cues are readily available. The one with the rings above and below the wrap would cost more because of the rings and it has more veneers. I prefer a 19 oz cue. So I would not be interested in either.

Preferred South West cue

can someone say which one of these cues would be more sort after then the other and why!

The second cue will cost more from South West cues because it has the optional trim rings above and below the wrap and it has triple veneers. These are options on a South West cue. Both cues are too heavy for me since I prefer cues in the low 19oz range, but they are nice cues if heavier cues are your preference. I have to say that a South West cue is one of the best investments you can make in a pool cue because of the supply and demand for these cues you should not lose any money on a South West cue.

I went to the super billiards expo this year( first time) and i'm not an expert( just a beginner) but after looking at all the cues for sale there ,I found that the southwest cue's were the best for the money there,

I know your going to ask how did I determine this! , well all I did all day was look at cues all day ( nothing else interested me) but cues! and looking and feeling and seeing quality from close up and from a distance ,I said to myself the best bang for the buck here is the southwest cues and none others come close to it they just seem to glow more or something like that!

I took a quick look and is one a Franklin and the other not ? I clearly see the roll marks where someone has ever so lightly turned the shafts for clean up on the 96 but I do not see a clear taper cut. With my opionion I would say the first has more quality woods involved but the second has detail and appears unturned.Personally I think the first has more of a classy look.SW are good cues always have been and as I am not a collector and have always looked at the shooters standpoint on cues.I would definatly go for the first cue if it were me.As for investment SW cues are a great investment from a shooters and tuners standpoint.Im not sure what the collectability is .They are very nice cues.Something is quirking me about the second cue though.I just cannot place my finger on it.Very nice cue and I have never had it in my shop but something is quirking me on it.I am not a computer person but is there a way someone could send me a closeup of the grain for the shafts of the second cue? Both shafts?A picture enlarged of the grain.

I have a southwest and the 1st cue shows that one of the shafts has been used.....because you can see the discoloration inside the shaft collar. As for them being unchalked...not that one, unless they screwed that shaft on a hundred times or so.

But as for the other one it looks brand new. And I don't think is too unusual for alot of people to have bought them and just stashed them.....made for a good investment a few years ago.

the first one is a Franklin era cue which used to be worth more money than the newer ones, but lately that doesn't seem to be the case.Tha second one does have a little more work in it.I personally think you can get alot better cue for $2000+.Better looking(there are a million cues that look like these),better workmanship and better hit.I have never been crazy about the hit of a SW.I have had 3 and hit with a few others and I feel there are better hitting cues out there. As others have said they are too heavy for me also.19 oz and under SW's are rare.Check out the hit and workmanship on Skip Westons,Dennis Searings and Mike Lambros cues.I am sure they are others too. They are cheaper and in my opinion all better. This is only my opinion and I apologize if it offends anyone.I also think it is crazy that these people are getting cues from SW that have been on the waiting list for years for about $1200-$1400 and celling them for a quick $1000 and people buy then up like hotcakes.I guess the price could go up more but i would be surprised. So at this point at $2200 or so I am not so sure they are a great investment.
