when you use a softer break. i am asking this because i have not the strength to make a really hard break. which cue did you think spreads the rack good without having a really hard break.

if you're breaking soft than i don't think it really matters which cue you use. the only reason we use certain cues to break is because they're made to allow to let us break as hard as we can...things like hardness of tip, taper, weight distribution etc. if you're using the soft break, its more about the technique and less about the cue IMO

If strength is the problem then which break cue you get won't help much.
The answer is use either but use a very light cue (momentum) or a very heavy cue (mass). Beyond that practice hitting the cue ball center and a full hit on the head of the rack. Works for Corey.

I would say the Mezz Power Break II is the best if you struggle with your break. I can hardly hit the balls and still get a good reaction. It is about 3 inches shorter than a regular cue so that might be difficult to get used to at first, but it really isn't a huge change. If you are going to be at the APA nationals in Vegas you can try all three of the break cues out.

Hope that helps a bit,
Sarah

+1 for the Power Break II. The short length helps with follow through unless you are already at the back of a regular length cue when you are breaking.

i'm going to agree with sarah on this one. the thing about my opinion is that i've only owned/used the pb2. still though i was really happy with mine and i'd buy another if i was in the market for a break cue

I have a Pb1 with Di shaft so the only difference to the Pb2 in the butt.
I wouldn't recommend a pwer break to the person with bad breaking technique. If you don't hit it exactly where intended the Cb is allover the table or you are having even bigger problems if you put english on it.
There is one huge advantage of the phenolic tip.Jumping with a full cue is easier then with some jump cues.you can be really precise, but jump draws are virtually impossible.
