Are any of these the correct one? I’m at Walmart now. Thanks!
It’s not Black FridayI hope you are still there...it is the meguiars in the black bottle,
Black-balled.
Yeah, I've had paralysis by analysis over all the different recommendations over the years. I've seen Dr Dave's videos, and this thread you linked. For several years I used my diamond ball polisher dry only, for fear of putting the wrong cleaner in it. Then I started using a tiny drop of the aramith ball cleaner that came with my super pro value set. It works ok, but still leaves lots of marks on the balls. I was looking for something that can be sprayed on. I've also never seen a pool room or a tourmanement use the aramith cleaner. They all use a spray on product. It is not just about making the balls shiny — it’s also about how they will play after you’ve polished them up.
And while all those products will polish up your balls nicely, you’re going to get less than ideal playability.
Follow Up to Dr. Dave's Experiment - Novus 1 vs Aramith
I have been using Novus 1 for cleaning balls in my ball machine for the last couple of years, based on recommendations I saw in AZB. I came across Dr. Dave's video on throw with various ball cleaners, and it got me to wondering how Novus 1...forums.azbilliards.com

I think many things in the pool world are re-branded products...I wasn't aware Walmart carried products designed to be used on phenolic pool balls.
Thanks, that's worth a try.I have found the mixture of 1 to 1.5 tbsp Aramith cleaner mixed with 1 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol sprayed in while my cleaner is running produces consistent, high polish results. I had never heard of this but it was included in the instructions for my machine. Truly an amazing product. Since it is a suspension, it has to be shaken before spraying. That is probably why it is not marketed, but you will be VERY impressed with the results and VERY LITTLE BUILD UP of residue. Been using it for quite a few months now and wouldn't buy anything else now.

That's ok...I rotated the computer.Sorry for the sideways picture! Its straight on my phone![]()
Especially if you already have a bottle of aramith cleaner around. I started with a $1.00 spray bottle from walmart, but it clogged and leaked. I found this one on Amazon at the recommendation of a friend here on the boards It is REALLY top quality and never leaks or clogs:Thanks, that's worth a try.
Why not take the guesswork and trial and error out of it? I've had good success with this.I think many things in the pool world are re-branded products...
I concur. It works very well.Maybe late here but the Meguiar's PlastX works very well. Have used it and Brillianize in a home-made bucket polisher. Both do a great job. Can't tell difference using either of these and the Aramith stuff.
Not a fan. It leaves the balls too slick. A local room uses that and the balls play goofy right out of the polisher and it takes about an hours worth of play for them to play properly.
This was also my experience using it in my polisher. The home made mixture I described above leaves absolutely nothing ON the ball. They just come out polished and clean. Not a fan. It leaves the balls too slick. A local room uses that and the balls play goofy right out of the polisher and it takes about an hours worth of play for them to play properly.
