Long story short I broke my cue, my only cue. Getting a new one in a week or two and have it narrowed down to either a pechauer jp series or a pro series sp. anyone have experience with both?

You can't buy a regular shaft except from them. They have their own unique speed joint. I had one and when I e-mailed Pechauer asking about it I said I guess I'm stuck buying a shaft from you. The person e-mailed back LOL yes you are. He thought it was funny.I didn't. Got rid of the Pechauer and will never buy another.
But they do make a great cue.
The only difference between the JP and Pro series is that the JP has a flat faced joint and the Pro is piloted.Same pin and the shaft from the JP series fits on the Pro series but not the other way.

Good points

Good info here.

I think you can order shafts from Predator and OB for your speed joint Pechauers (they both have had contracts with Pechauer).

Older Pechauers (before 2003) did not yet have the speed joint.

I also agree that they are great cues.

yes you can get shafts ffrom predator and ob but other than that im nowhere near good enough to worry i had my last cue for 6 or 7 years and never worried about another shaft. just wondering what the hit was like since ive never shot with a piloted joint before...at least not to my knowledge and in that case i guess i would have my answer lol

The joint was the reason why some of my friends never bought Pechauer. I think they losing out on customer this way.

If this is the cue you intend to play with, do not buy any cue until you have had a chance to play with it. If it doesn't fit your game you could struggle for a long time before your game gets back to where it was.

They do indeed. I use a JP series butt with a Predator Z² shaft.

TommyLee, if you're interested in a 314² shaft for your Pechauer, click HERE or just drop me a PM.

I would love to but I don't know how well the nice shaft would work on a butt that's in more than one piece

I'll throw in free glue.

(Srsly tho, if you replace your JP with another JP and you want a Predator shaft upgrade, give me a shout.)
