Predator Sneaky Pete is the best?

Hi,

I currently own a P2 and P3 with Z-2 shaft , and after several people keep telling me that SP (and sometime QR2) is the best predator cue, I'm planning to buy and try it myself. Are they really the best?

Thanks.

You have a predator cue,,,there all great sticks. Now all you have to do is train it to be the best!!
That's my best answer,,,lol,,but I'm sure you will get some responses.

I thought all the Predator SP's were built the same? They just give you the option of wood to wood or SS joint for your hit/feel preference. Plus the your preference of a 12.75mm shaft or a 11.75mm shaft. I had a retired Predator SP 4 point with the SS joint and sold it because the butt end felt to large. It hit awesome though.

The only thing that matters for playability is the shaft. All predator cues use the same shafts. Switching cues will not make a difference. You may get a different feel because a wrap or a different joint gives a different feel, but the playability is the same.

What SS stand for? Is there price difference between the 2 joint?

I have both versions and like them both. I really like the way the wood joint feels, others think it feels a tad dead and prefer the metal joint.

I have the wood-to-wood SP, and just recently "bought" a SS joint one just to try it out (will prob return it for a Schon or Mezz if I like the SS feel).

Another question: compared to a no-wrap cue, what does the wrap add/subtract from the feel?

I bought the sp4rjw I think was the model. Stainless joint w wrap. I didn't like the wrap it felt hard and waxy like it literally had wax coating. Not sure if it would break in or what but it was slick. I didn't like it. I want the wood to wood. Also not very sneaky w the stainless joint and a wrap

If you can, try waiting until this summer. Predator is releasing a new line of sneakies, and i'm sure they'll be purdy. I think one of the models was an SP13?

How much of a difference is there between the P2 & P3?

Present versions are already out of stock from seyberts, so definately they would be upto something new.

Personally i like the hit of 4 pointers bettter than 8 pointer sneakies. I havent tried a tru sneaky so cannot commen, but wood to wood joints are always good as they give you a hit of a one piece cue.

Thanks.

i sent an email to predator and i got the typical customer service reply:

What's the hallmark of a good "Sneaky Pete" cue?
Why it's ability to be sneaky, of course. A sneaky pete cue wouldn't be worth shucks if when you took it out of the case, screwed it together, and someone yelled: "Hey, that guy's got a custom cue."
I'd go for the sneakiest one they've got, if I were you. :)

I bought an 8pt Sneaky a while back, before they sold out, and had it wrapped by a local cuemaker. Plays awesome. Best cue I've used.

i talked to the predator people at SBE and all they would tell me about the new sneakies is that they will look "significantly different" than the current ones.

The latest sneaky technological advancements ...

I wonder if the "new" sneaky will be even sneakier than the "old" sneaky ... or will it be less sneaky?!?!

Gotta luv this stuff! :)

All kidding aside, the Predator SPz tend to be a bit more forward weighted than most SPz because the denser wood of the butt extends well into the forearm. The butts are also somewhat thinner than most SPz. They feel more "Predator-like" than other SPz, IMHO.
