Which shaft diameter?

I have not decided on which shaft I'm going with yet (314^2 ob1 or tiger) but I do know I would like to try a little smaller diameter in shaft. I am either going 12.50 or 12.25. Would you even be able to tell a difference between the two. I have played alot with 12.75 and 11.75 but never anything in between. 12.75 feels too big to me and 11.75 is a little to small plus it punishes me when my stroke is a little off. What do you think?

you should look into mezz shafts....sounds like you like LD and they have several to choose from. wd700 and hybrid pro 2 are both 12.5mm. nice hit too for an LD shaft.

Have you considered asking someone at the poolhall if you could stroke a few balls with thier cue ?
Ask them what the diameter of thier shaft is, and then see if you can hit a few. If they play with a 12.5, 12.25, or some other variation, you'll know right off the bat.

Given the price of high performance shafts, that's a good chunk o'change to drop on a 'maybe'.

Yes... in my opinion you will be able to tell the difference, no matter how subtle.

Last night I was able to use a guys cue that was a 12mm. I could tell a difference. Most everyone I have asked use standard 12.75

I prefer shafts that are close to 12.3 mm. It just feels better to me than a 13 or 12.75... and I have shot with a LOT of different shafts... including some of the more popular LD ones.

Try to find someone with a 12.3 or close and take it for a quick spin.
