Which Sneaky to buy?

Sly's Cues

I own a cocobola sneaky pete from Leon Sly and I'm very happy with the cue it hits as hard as any cue I have played with and everyone that has tried the cue says it plays great, now let me just say that I have owned and played with a lot of high dollar cues and Sly's cues plays just as good as any of them. Check them out for yourself and you will see that the quality of the cue is as good as it gets, they look and play great.

JP I don't appreciate the accusations sounds more like defamation of character or slandering of my business. I don't know what you have against me I don't know why you come on this forum and down grade me like I'm nobody. I'm going to forward this information to my attorney and let him handle it from here on out.

Country: It's frustrating. Tim & Mike have tried to help you, you bad mouth them , Bob Frey has been patient with you, and you bad mouth him. Sly hangs out with Fat Wayne getting drunk 3 nights a week, his wife wants to kill him, He buys 3rds,shafts from Tim,not seconds, buys house cues from Smelke and from pool halls, uses fast dry glue, but according to you he's a great cuemaker. Truth is, he's a ****ing Redneck doing a half ass job, and bullshiting people like you, that he's the next Balabushka. You have had every damn cue made out there, and there is no way you're gong to tell me that his cues are worth a shit. I normally sit on the fence, but Tim,Mike, and Bob are legitimate businessmen, you now know what I think of your great newfound cuemaker. JP

Bob, I'am just pissed at the way you handle friends. You forwarded my message to Sly. It was ment for you personally. You have a way of starting shit. Give Sly my number, I will explain how I came to not like the things you say of others, so I spoke to you personally to let you know my feelings. I'll gladly tell him that it is you that gave me my imformation of him.

Ummm... WTF? "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives."

I have a Frey SP that I love. If I didn't already have one I'd pick up the cocobola one that has been floating around in the for sale section here. I haven't hit with a Josey... but the tulipwood SP for 300 that someone is pushing is also a tempting deal. I'd say out of the two, you can't really go wrong as theoretically if you don't like what you get you should be able to sell it without much problem... However, that Frey has been on the board 4-sale for a bit now. Probably just a bad time being post SBE and tax time.

Good luck.

Until last week I was leaning toward my Diveney. I am now sold on my Cory Barnhart sneaky. Just spent 4 hours playing with it and it is sweeeet!

Jesus man... You've got quite the cue collection listed! How do you like your Ariel Carmeli - not to hijack the thread - but I'm leaning towards picking up one of his cues. To make it more relevant westerncue.com has a few sneakies from his shop. :)

Thanks Chuck,

i saw your cue at the for sale forum.

And if it had no steel joint, i would have jumped on it. But i can't get used to a steel jointed cue.

If you're lucky enough to get him to make you one, Leon Sly makes the best playing sneaky pete and his points are very close to perfect. He's trying to only make higher end cues because of all the work that goes into a sneaky for a much lower price. good luck, Bob C. p.s. Leon's number#410-827-4966 around 5 o'clock after shop hours is best.
Bob Frey is also a great cue maker that you can't go wrong getting a cue from. I have one that was made in the middle 70's by Bob that plays super. I wish Bob Frey a speedy recovery from his recent surgery. God bless. Bob C.

I haven't gotten to try out one of Leon's cues yet, but I have tried alot of others including the rest of the list.
My current recommendations based upon what I have and what I've used:
Tim Scruggs
Bob Frey
Wayne Gunn
Steve Klein
Jerry Powers
Shawn Putnam
Dave Kikel
Gale Clark
Keith Josey
Leonard Bludworth

In a mostly random order....
And current favorite of the Titelist conversions..........Bobby Hunter!!!
