Which Tip to get?

I am looking to replace the tip of my cue. It is very hard and I seem to have little control of the cue ball. What might you suggest. It is for my player cue.

I play with a Kamui black med soft and love it. I get great control. Used a super soft for a while and thought it grabbed the ball too much.

Have used sniper, moori, le pro, kamui brown, and a few others but I like the black the best.

The weekly "which tip to use" question. :)

Kamui Black Soft is my pick, used it on 3 different cues and 4 different shafts, like it better than anything else I tried. Hold shape very well, does not feel like a Soft though, with most other tip brands it would be ranked close to a Medium.

There is no single right answer. Find some who installs tips and work with him. If you are going to install by yourself, try something simple and inexpensive like Triangle, Le Pro, Elk Master. All three are fine tips.

What ever you do in pool you have to learn it and know how it plays, having said that, i'd buy a box of medium Le Pro, this way you use same tip for life, just keep the box covered in plastic bag, keep two or three tips in your pool case.

Le Pro Pool Cue Tips (Box of 50)
Price: $19.95

out of those three triangle is the best choice IMO for an inexpensive laminated tip. i just put on an elk master soft to try it and ill probably cut it off when i order new tips after the holidays

I think we have a communication snafu. Those three tips are not laminated. They (Elk Master, LePro, Triangle) are single-piece.

Freddie <~~~ but I agree that Triangle is the way to go

Price should never enter the decision unless it is a high price and you don't wish to spend the money.

Old Triangle tips were used by great master players without any complaints. The hand selected old triangle or an old moori are my two choices and are on my new Hercek when it arrives in the next, few weeks.

I find the old triangle to have a better feel on the roll of the ball even if the grip is not as crazy as the moori or other layered craze out there these days. Sometime too much grip is not good too. The old triangle gave the right stroke the right reward. Sort of like needing a pro taper on the shaft vs. the classic Balabushka. If you know what you are doing = control.

My choice also. I have gone through a ton of tips lately and have liked the LePro's the best.

This is a tricky question because there are a few factors that you have to consider. The first is what kind of player are you. By that I mean are you a banger or a smooth stroke or a little bit of both.

I am a little bit of both so for me I like a Med tip (Everest/ Kamui) Most people that play a smooth stroke like soft tips( Moori/ Kamui) It all depends of what feels right to you.

On a side note has anyone tried the Predator tips yet? If so let me know how they play:thumbup:
