Which would you want to see

If you could see only one match which of the following would you choose: The 200 ball run at this year's World 14.1, or last year's final's match where both players had runs of 100.
This was Efren and John S.
This, I believe is the only time either of these events took place. Two 100 ball runs in the same word championship match, and a 200 ball run.

There have been many world championship matches in which both players had a 100 ball run. The most memorable one I recall was in 1979 or 1980, when Peter Margo ran over 100 on Joe Balsis only to see Joe run 138 and out. I think it was in the quarterfinals.

Darren's 200 and out must stand out as one of the great runs, if not the greatest run, in 14.1 history. It may have slightly less technical elegance than Sigel's 150 and out vs Zuglan in the 1992 US Open, but Appleton's run is a thing of beauty in which no magical escapes were needed to keep the run going.

To me, this is no contest. Appleton's perfect 200 gets the nod.

Agreed an not even close

At this level of play 100 ball runs are a common occurrence. Big deal if 2 players do it in the same match. There were 7 or 8 100 ball runs in this years event. Darren's run of 200 is historical. And to top it, it's got to happen after a scratch, so although possible, highly unlikely to ever be topped.

No brainer: 200 ball run.

Had the pleasure of being there sitting ringside with Stu, Dennis, and Marop to watch this epic 200 Ball run, so unless you can duplicate those conditions once again for me nothing else would ever compare !!!

Great Times, and a Epic Run !

I'm with you, Steve. History being made. Great run. Able to sit there with kindred spirits and chat about the run as it was happening. It doesn't get any better.

Stu was near us but over in the sponsor seats, rubbing elbows with Dr. Fedak and others. I think Gene Mann was sitting with us in the cheap seats, which were in my opinion, the best seats in the house.

I stand corrected, Gene Included. Stu was an Arms reach away from me, at the next table over. so I still consider that ringside with all of us !!!
