White Bumpers

Looking for a white bumper for my Schon. Do any exist? Would love to buy a couple.

You can probably come up with one...and if not somebody can turn you one on a lathe. I chime in only because I had a white bumper on a cue and I can tell you that they don't stay white very long. It will look very dirty very fast. You may want to consider that.

I found some of them a long time ago that look just like the ones in the picture, although I'm sure they are different. I found them in a hardware department of some store, but been so long that I can't recall where. I still have them in the blister package that they came in, but unfortunately they yellowed over time.

The Home Depot in my neighborhood sells them. Four to a package, less than two bucks.

That could have been where I ran across them, but not sure, They were 4 to a pack, and pretty cheap I remember that much. They don't have a metal washer embedded in the rubber like some cue bumpers do though. There's enough room in the screw hole to press one in, and still have room to countersink the screw head, but don't know how well they would hold up.

I understand that it would get dirty over time. But I still think it would look cool. If anyone has one I would love to buy a couple. For that matter if anyone has a brown bumper I would like to buy a couple of those as well.

Is there any type of solution that could be applied to a fresh bumper, almost acting as a seal or finish, to protect it from discoloration without making the rubber too hard or brittle?

That's what I was thinking. Maybe a couple coats of poly to protect it.

If there is a big enough call for white bumpers I could make them from a White Aliphatic Polyurea. It would be similar to a Bedliner rubber only 100% UV stable.
