Does anyone know where I can get these prefereably from somewhere that ships internationaly I have tried ebay but they only sell them as singles not in bulk, can anyone help?.
 
Cheers poke n hope but thats a wee bit pricey just for 1 tip, but thanks anyway for the help its always appreciated.
 
I have never seen one but I have been told that they are just Aegis milled into the shape of a tip. Again, this is what i have been told, I don't know for sure if it is true. You might ask a local cue repair guy if he can make you one cheaper!

There is only one place for White Diamonds and that's Joe Picone.
Anyone else selling them buys them from Joe.
I'm sure he'll give you a good bulk price.

I have used one before on one of my break cues...
I liked it, compared to a WB or other standard hard tip...
 
I liked mine for a day, but I can't get them to stay on. My break blows them right off...
 
the sales on ebay are not singles, they are for sets of 3. the seller on ebay IS joe picone - http://www.piconecues.com/id4.html. i'm sure if you called him direct he would cut you the same deal as he sells them for on ebay or possibly better if you picked up a whole bunch at once.

Mine after 4 months but then i just use those 1 sec glue and its still on tho... what im still wondering.... my breakcue use to be a Phenolic tip, he just flattend it and glued the WD on it, is that like the normal procedure?
 
I've got them on both my break shafts, one J&J and one Dufferin. I lost one once with CA gel, so these are both glued with Gorilla Glue. I can't say I have a monster break, but they are both doing fine after 6 months of use. As with any tip installation, don't skip on the preparation. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some type of mold release on the tip, so sand the back well. FWIW I consider it the ideal break tip. Holds chalk well, hits as hard as a phenolic, but doesn't smooth out like a phenolic.

I'll second the Joe Picone recomendation. Very fast service. I've put one on a clunky old bar stick with super glue and used it a while with no problems. Later gave it away to someone who seems afraid they will damage the thing.:confused:

were you guys able to install the tip with hand tools only, no lathe? was it easy to cut and trim?

Phenolic is what a lot of ferrules are made of. It is common for one to be installed and then the tip of choice glued to the top. The question is, is the ferrule as long or as short as you usually like them to be.
