Whitten case help...

Hey gang...I recently bought another whitten 2 x 4 an older model..it seems the previous owner rigged up the shaft tubes with some non whitten spacers. I was able to bump out a joint protector and spring from 2 if the tubes but the other 2 have some pseudo spacer in them...any ideas on how I might remove without sending to Joe Whitten? Thanks in advance....
 
Can you see what material was used to make the spacers? How you remove them depends on what they are.

Cant see even with a light the shaft tubes are just too thin..I'm not sure the material is too relevant it's a matter of getting an something (like a long ass drill bit) long and thin enough to hit the object without bending or going too far to the bottom of the tube...based on how high the shaft sits in the 2 clogged tubes there is about an inch and a half of filler.....as I mentioned on the two tubes that I was able to clear there was a spring and a joint protector (shaft piece) jammed in there. Thanks!

You Might Try Double Sticky Tape on a Dowel Rod. Do you have a MINI Pen Light you could lower in the hole to look see?
 
I used an LED snakelight that hung down about 6 inches to light the way. The previous owner of my Witten stuffed cushion foam down into the holes. I got 2 1/8" steel rods and inserted them down opposite sides of the tubes. I then twisted them together a couple times being careful not to twist the cloth lining and pulled the stuff out of the hole -kinda like extracting a broken tap. Good luck!

Not a bad idea CC

I bought a case that had form spacers stuck in the bottom of the tubes and the Whitten stick twisted them right out.

If the Whitten Stick had a Screw Thread I think it would work for this guy also. He may have NON WHITTEN SPACERS. "previous owner rigged up the shaft tubes with some non whitten spacers"

Thanks For all the comments fellas....double stick tape will definately not work...and I do believe whatever is stuffed down there is a) hard and b) almost the same diameter as the tube. Think something like a joint protector...I think I may need something to actually break the object out without hurting the tubes...since the objects seem to be at least an inch long something like a long iron rod may do it but I would have to kinda carefully have to tap it out and it would need to be stiff enough to not buckle as I put pressure on it....

I'm thinking about a screw glued or screwed through something like a length of 1/2" pvc with a cap on the end of it, or a fiberglass rod that you can find at Home Depot. In either case attach the screw to the end of the pipe/rod and spear the "plug" with it. Then turn it to imbed the screw better, and pull out.

Get a wood dowel, (you can buy them at home depot, hardware store) and put a screw in the bottom of the dowel, then cut off the head. If what's in the bottom is too hard that the screw won't work, try turning the case upside down and banging the case. Those Whitten cases are tough, but don't do it on concrete.

Maybe I'll go with that Rigid Snake...it's only $1700 and I could always post it in the for sale section as a slightly used "case tube object extractor" lol....or maybe I'll try Stans or Mr. Hoppe's PVC idea w screw...that sounds like it might work...I'll be sure to post pics when I resolve! Thanks fellas....
