who are the broadcasters on the Turning Stone stream

Not too many years ago in a poolroom around Miami, Danny knocked some guy out or down. Johnnyt

I don't doubt it. My dad always told me the last thing a man loses is his punch. And he proved it one night when he was close to my age (going on 63) when some young toughs from the next town came into the bowling alley and gave my dad's buddy a hard time.

They took it outside, and the story is that Dad stepped up to the biggest guy of the three of them and hit him square in the forehead with an overhand right. They say the guy started squealing like a baby pig, and ran off, screaming, "I think he broke my f*ckin' skull." The other two ran away, and Dad went back in to finish his beer. Lol

Now, my dad was a pretty tough guy and boxed in the Navy during WWII, but he was no pro boxer with a knockout record like Danny D. Still, even at Danny's age he was a tough hombre and didn't take shit from anybody. I can handle myself OK, but it wasn't until my dad was 88 and dying of cancer that I liked my chances against him. Some guys will kick your ass until the day they die.

I'm glad you responded to this poster and that you had a great story that applied, relating to your dad.

Toughness doesn't have to disappear at any given age.

It's a state of mind that often sticks til the end.

best,

Being given a free internet stream to live pool and complaining about the announcers is like getting a free Lexus and *****ing that you don't like the color.
 I gotta' admit...there's a lot of truth in what you just posted.
(that's why there is a mute button, I suppose)
The part about complaining over a free stream is pretty good.....:)

Yea, yea, yea.......everybody is/was a "tough guy" and knocked out people easily every day.......:boring:

Knocking guys out ain't such a hard thing to do once you know how to do it. It's more a timing and accuracy thing rather than just a brute strength thing. Boxers train to do this every day of their career, and they also learn how to avoid it. The average guy, well, he don't know how to avoid it so well. Hence the term, "tomato can".

I never said my dad could knock guys out all day long, just that when he was 60 years old he could hit so hard he made a big 20-something wannabe tough guy quit standing up, crying like a little girl, and he wasn't any bigger than DiLiberto is.

You wanna go up against Danny D.? Be my guest. I don't want any part of him.

Upstate Al and Danny DiLiberto should be thanked for providing the quality free stream as well as the entertaining commentary.

For those who would complain about the quality of the commentary, I suggest you either get in the booth and do a better job (if they will even let you in) or send the Live Stream company a few thousand dollars for their next broadcast and I will be willing to bet that they will be happy to honor any request that you might have for commentators, at least for the next stream.

Agreed with one clarification --- it is Al alone that provides the stream and runs the show. His guest commentators, some of them excellent and others poor, are always treated with due respect. Danny D was surely the most entertaining of the commentators at Turning Stone.
