Honestly, I'd like to see Mike Dechaine break through. Sarcastically, Karl Boyes, because the tarnished reputation of this tournament deserves a scumbag champion.
I agre B**** Boyes is a tool.
Oh and to answer the question of the thread, I'm hoping that Jayson can get his first Open. Not that I'm biased or anything, oh no no no...

For the A-side I think Albin and Dechaine are both looking really good. Albin had a strong comeback on Peach down quite a lot early in their match and comfortably beat him 11-6. Dechaine just pummeled Morra 11-2, which means he has got to be shooting well because Morra is normally steady.
The B-side is a mess of elite players and TBH most of the favorites have gone to it, and some already went off of it.
I think Jun Lin Chang has a chance to do some damage on the B-side if he can get in gear. He had a terrible match against Ortmann, starting with a illegal break that gave Ortmann an early huge lead. Ortmann shot well into the 0.900's building up a huge lead. Ortmann slipped late in the match but the deficit was simply too big.
SVB is as dangerous as anyone on the B-side. He shot a great match against Bergman and made some sick outs, nothing really even laid very easy for SVB in that match and it was an uphill battle the whole way.
Noone is talking about Biado either, while he silently stomps through the A-side, having just beat Thorsten Hohmann 11-3. Shaw will need to pull out a different gear than he has been playing with so far if he wants to win against Biado in his next match.

Jayson has been hitting 'em strong too this week. He beat Mika in a challenge match at Greenleaf's Pool Room in straight pool.
I watched Jayson play against Shane a few years ago at the Open, and he was fidgety and nervous on the TV table. I think he has seasoning now as well as a few first-place wins this past year. He is a strong contender for sure!

I'm a Shaw fan as well. He will need to play solid against Biado. I'm gonna watch the stream.
I wish I could watch the stream but the match is at 1am in Scotland and I'm up at 6am for work tomorrow. Blooming time zones!
I don't know much about this Biado guy. I googled him, and his nickname is "Lucky Luke." Here is his bio on AzBilliards Pro Players:

As far as dominance, has Dechaine been the strongest force so far? I wish we could look at the Accu-Stat scores of the matches and compare, but that would take forever. :grin-square:

....I liked him in the Shaw race to 80 also.
He's got it all...he can grind and he can run out.
