Who do you think SVB would prefer to gamble against?

Well judging by the way the current match is going I think he might not be jumping at the chance to gamble with #4.

I will tell you right now Shane will not back down from any one in the world playing ANY rotation game, 8-ball, or 1p. If they play straight pool or banks, I'm sure he's still game.

A lot of people here aren't ready to admit that Shane is the current best player in the world, but I think we can all agree the kid has ice in his vains, and will play ANYONE.

best,

Justin

Shane will play anyone and defiantly in the top 3 best for years already. They usually rotate the top ranking a few times a year lol :p

People seem to forget ANYBODY can win in a short race format.....

Anybody on AZbilliards has a chance in beating SVB in a short race format...

Change it to a Long race format and 99% on AZbilliards would be homeless when SVB got finished beating you out of everything you own.

Judging him getting beat by anyone at the Mosconi Cup is a laughing joke.

Excluding Johnny Archer no one at the Mosconi Cup has a chance beating SVB in a long race format.

Isn't this just another of saying "out of this list of four players, who is the worst"?

The only way most of us can judge this is to look at tournament records. Obviously Nikos doesn't have the same achievements. But hey, he's got a job (runs a pool hall apparently). And as Craig points out, in a short race anyone can be a contender.

That said, I think Darren would have a shot even in a longer race vs. Shane.

Hey Craig,
This is just my opinion and a question all at the same time! Who's fault is if a world class pool player is not favored in a short match? All tournaments are not long matches anyway. I play pool and I like short and medium race matches. Race to 7 games or race to 9 games. I saw Johnny Archer race to 21 for $3,000. in Georgia a couple years ago. His opponent jumped out to 12 nothing and lost the match 21 to 12 J A.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

had the race been to 7,9 or 11, JA would have skunked.

My point exactly if the race would have been a race to 10 looks like the other guy WON, but longer the race the better player wins.

Nobody is at fault regardless of skill level. Short races anybody can win regardless of skill level.

In long race format the better player will win 99% of the time. The weaker player can't out run their mistakes in a long race format and the better player will over come all the mistakes.

I do agree with you on that statement. By the way the other player was not a weak player. He had so few trips to the table after J A got hot. That he could have been a super pro player. This is the way I like to discuss things. Plain and simple, with no problems! Thank you.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Who was Johnny playing? You should know why a champion can lose a short race. One mistake, like not making a ball on the break can costl you the match in a short race. The only people I've ever seen that wanted to play short races was the underdog since it gives them the best chance of beating a better player. Play 15 or 20 ahead to see who the best player is!

Did I not agree with Craig? We play a lot of 8 ahead and 4 ahead one pocket down here. Why would I give you the players name and I did not give it to the person I was answering post? I still like a race to 7 or 9 games playing 9 ball, or 10 ball. The is a pro pool player, and he plays real good pool. The names were not the point, the long race was the point. A better player is favorite to win a long race.
