Who is Eduardo Roldan?

I believe he is from Puerto Rico, but I'm terrible with names. I think, and I am not sure, that he competed in the U.S. Open last year, and he might have been playing at the Pro Event at the Super Billiards Expo, too. There were several champion players from Puerto Rico in attendance.

The BCA Open is a 64-player field which is reserved for: 32 UPA Touring Pros selected by the UPA according to their ranking sysetm and 28 foreign champion players. I think four spots are reserved for the four qualifiers which were held around the country this past year.

I took this pic at last year's U.S. Open, but I never did get the player's name. Is this him?

I think the picture is of Rolon.

Here is info on Roldan from azb's database

From South America.
Very solid player & a real nice person.
Came to N.M to take lessons from Louis Roybal & has been aiming to
turn pro for a few years.

Shinyballs...aren't you from NM? I remember seeing on another post that you bought the GCIV used at the '04 WPBA US Open in Albuquerque, and just assumed that you are from NM. If so, you might have seen Eduardo around. I watched him play in the NM 9-Ball Open last October, I think he took 3rd.

Correct Shinyballs, Eduardo Roldan is from Argentina but, lived in Spain and the picture is not of him. Yes, he was in Albuquerque, NM which I think he would now call home. Spent the last two months in a little poolroom in Mississippi you probably never heard of but, left two days ago headed toward Colorado. He is a nice guy, not a champion but, is very dedicated to the game.

He didn't go to Colorado...he is in Albuquerque, played in a tournament with him last night. He is going to the BCA Open 9 Ball event in Las Vegas this week...pro side.

I actually know who Eduardo is and have met him several times. I was pretty much trying to confirm it was the same Eduardo and find out if anyone has played with or seen him play lately. I also couldn't remember Eduardo's last name. I'm very pleased to hear that he's playing in the pro tournament. I guess all the lessons from Louie Roybal and time on the road have paid off for him.

On a side note, I've always referred to Eduardo as "the machine" because a few years ago, someone referred to him as such at a tournament in Albuquerque. Watching him, I found his style seemed to fit that description.

Anyway, best of luck to Eduardo and all of the players from the Land of Enchantment!

If anyone on this thread sees Eduardo, please tell him Matt said hi. He stayed with me for a few months in Athens Ga.
