Who is he?

Does anyone know the youngster practicing on the BCN table? He would have to give me weight and he looks to be about 12-14 years old. :o
I use a more expensive cue besides.

The AZ room was about empty when he came in. I was ready to leave but thought it a nice gesture to ask him if he wanted to play a little. I screwed my cue back together and didn't bother to put my glasses back on just to shoot the "Kid". You are right---I racked for about 30 minutes and he didn't miss a ball. The "Kid" is the real deal.

He's one of my player reps, Landon Shuffett. He just received his new Sherm Cue and says he loves it! I think he could be the future "Tiger Woods" of pool! He really plays jam up and has a great attitude. His family are very supportive and yet he's very well rounded. Great Kid, and a future role model, from what I've seen!

just more hot air!

How does Landon play compared to Austin Murphy?

Seems like he has a pretty good heart for the game also. I was playing on the table next too him in round 1. He was down 5-1 and fought back through some good saftey and runouts. Won 7-5. Maybe I should keep my mind on my own match, but thats tough with all these great players playing 10 feet from you. I slipped by my first match 7-3 even though I played pretty bad:eek:

Riley, look down there happens to be a great player standing in your shoes. Dont let all the hype get to you, go out and play your game. Good luck today

Thanks Rob, Its though to keep focused on your match when you have these idols playing beside you. When I started my match I was on the table next to the straight pool challenge. Johnny A. was on a 100+ run. How do you focus with this going on beside you. I dont really care how I do in the tourney. I already made my expectations, I finally made it to the DCC. Can you say nerves:) :) I have never had problems with nerves at the state level, but you get down here and its a whole new ball game.

Riley, i dont think its your nerves, probably excitement more than anything. I know its easy for me to sit here and be a armchair quarterback, but remember situations like this not only build your game but your character also. I hope you do care about how you do in the tourny, remember you CAN play with the best. No matter the outcome relax and enjoy your time.Dont want to sound to critical but remember good eating and sleeping habits may be the key in a long format like this. Go get em, may be more than 1 star from SD shining this year.

Linda,

Just from what I have seen and his showing in the BCA junior nats, I would place him in the top 5 for his age, maybe higher.

I had the good fortune to meet Landon and his father Stan a few times and they is good people.

If Stan sees this thread he might check in.

Well, it's hard to say. He's beat a couple of men so far, the last one I believe was 7-0, and has beat Cliff Joiner a nine-ball match in the past. He plays pretty good!

Sherm congrats on having Landon as a player rep. He is a true gentleman but a kid at heart. Sometimes when talking to him about pool you forget how old or young he really is. When he is away from the table and wondering around with his dad naturally the kid comes out in him. Just a great kid with a lot of manors and respect for others. "Well rounded" is a perfect phrase for him.

That's good to hear about the "manners and respect", pool needs a young star with a good attitude. I can't even imagine competing against the pros at that age, very impressive!

he is a good kid (from what ive heard... ive never met him) and this is the best time for him... he is still too young to know what its like to Fear someone... lol... but its amazing what this little prodigy can do at such a young age.

They are both great players. However, my "College Tuition Funds" would be all on Landon.
