I'm a normal guy that plays pool. No more, no less. I've been on here for about 3 years, but lurked for another year more than that. Met many on here including Ray Hansen, Joey A, John Brumback, RHatten, Doc Hutch, BobN, GaryG, Steve Lomax, and yes, Mary Avina & CJ Wiley. Plus, many others.
Just establishing that the people that stand up for her aren't all "bots", "sock accounts", or Mary attempting to defend herself.
For those that that have met her, they have the right to their opinion, as do I.
For those that haven't met her, what would you base your opinion on? Pure conjecture? Jumping on the bandwagon of pitch-forked citizens?
If Mary wasn't much of a player a few years ago, then either she's really improved....or as someone else stated, you're falling for the trap.

i have never met her so i have no opinion one way or the other.
i don't see why all the bashing is going on here . it seems to be the norm on here any more for any one who puts them selves in the spot light.
its not like she is going around claiming to be the next alison fischer or karen korr. so what if she uses her looks to sell something. ? she ain;t the 1st and definitely won't be the last.
i have no idea what her skill level is . i noticed some claim she could not run 3 balls before she moved in with cj.
i also have no idea how interested she has been in improving since she has lived with cj but if he has taught her anything at all i would say she is a lot better player than she was 3 years ago.
i know if i lived with a female pro i would be a lot better player than i was 3 years ago.

I have no idea who she is beyond watching her Trick Shot video. after listening to her laugh, I started calling her Giggle Puss. A couple of times I did anyway.
Not that I am anything more than an arm chair psychologist but I had always wondered if she didn't grow up in an environment that gave her a bit of an Inferiority Complex and in trying hard to over come that, sometimes over representing herself to people.
That can be a serious turn off, but sometimes that is the only way that people know to try and become accepted by your peers.
On the other hand, she could also be a serious Narcissist with a Borderline Personality Disorder. Now, people with those disorders can be down right weird.
After all, she calls some of her photos, Fan Photos. Maybe in her little world, she does have Fans. She does seem to be pretty full of herself
in some of the videos.
If you're going to brag about certain abilities, playing pool, and others find out that
you're not as good as claimed, thats not received well usually in the local pool community.
She likes to shoot and edit videos, paint, she can put a table together. On one of CJ's videos, I watched her run a rack. Maybe that was set up and edited, I have no idea.
I did watch her do a painting. I may have to post the link. It sure looked like she was painting a Giant Penis. At the end, it was a woman with no top on sitting on the edge of a bed.
Up until she painted hair on the woman, it was a big penis tho.
The end result is pretty fair, but then I can't afford to be an art critic as I haven't gotten past the stick man doodling part of art work.
Other than that, the only thing that I have to go by is what others that do know her have posted.
If you have had the pleasure of making her acquaintance and are of a different opinion of other posters here, like I first stated, that is perfectly fine.

i have never watched any of videos. your assesment may be quite accurate. if so it would be a turn off for me.
don't care to watch a woman shoot pool just because she may be hot.
just like watching miss usa pageant. never saw so many hot women that were bat shit crazy and dumb as a box of rocks.i was all goo goo eyed till they start talking and then i realize they are all beauty and no brains.
not saying mary is that way at all. like i said i have never watched her video. if i want to watch a hot woman playing pool i would rather watch alison fisher. when i could take my eyes off her and look at the table instead i might learn something when she makes a shot.

If an ambassador of the sport has to be a world champion maybe that's another thing wrong with pool... Someone enjoys something but they aren't as good as you want them to be so you knock them for it?
If you are on here to measure penis length maybe that is the problem every time a woman gets some attention for having a cue in her hand and a desire to play and enjoy the game. Especially if they are attractive at all.. Be pretty sad if theirs is longer than yours in this little slice of cyber world... But based on the Mary threads and the total crapfest that came about over Emily D. I'd say it might be the case that they are at least even with some of the posters here and they are females

From what I have read, people dislike her because of her attitude. Not her skill, looks or gender.
Also, there are people that say they don't want their business associated with her.
That right there says a lot.
Mary has a great attitude and is intelligent.
Not sure where all the negativity is coming from. It just seems like a few people didn't "get her", gave their opinion....and some took it as gospel.

I kinda feel the same way. On one Hand, outside of YT, she's unproven as far as her playing ability. Even if she never plays a tournament, she's a trick shot artist, which still takes some skill.
Also, her biggest "debunker" is an attention loving blogger. Take from that what you will.
A blogger who steps up and plays, you must admit. No ducking with her.
