Who is the best non "A-list" player?

There's also players these days still out there in the trenches grinding that top pros know of, that most AZBers may not know because they won't play tourneys often and get on stream. Some give some of the guys you consider the best at games more then they can handle. Others can give them all they can handle at any given time.

Pick know some don't want to believe this, but they are around still, these types of players do exist still, although harder then ever with all the pool detectives.

Tom D'Alfonso "shorty" is a great player that not too many people know about. If pool was in a better state and he put a little more time in he could beat any US player except maybe SVB consistently. Plus he is a great role model for pool; humble, great sport who never sharks, and win or lose his demeanor never changes. If you were to look at him during a match and you just walked in you wouldn't be able to tell if he was winning or losing.

Had Tom in my room back in the day when he was just a "B" and was probably 14-15. Also got to play him once and got totally ravaged. But I have had the opportunity to watch him over the years and yes, he is a pretty good guy. Many of those pool kids have a way of growing up with wrong ideas about the world. He doesn't seem to be like that.

I admire Klatt's game. He maintains a high level of focus, plays hard, and is a tough matchup for anyone. I like the effort he puts forth and wish him nothing but the best as a reward.

My thoughts exactly. I have been impressed by this young guy many times. And is wife is super nice too

I don't know Tom personally, but I've seen this kid play. He'd recently been on the road. That ended as he started to become "known". He has made a very good showing for himself in the tournaments he has entered. As he gets used to that atmosphere, he will get better. This kid is an absolute monster. I hope he surrounds himself with the right kind of people going forward. He should now leave the road and that lifestyle behind.
