The definition of INSTRUCTOR is as follows: One who regularly advertises, provides and charges for their pool instruction.

I know of a couple that I think are at the top of the group but wanted to hear what you all think.

You may include male or female instructors of course.

Please list the country where the instructor resides.

So far:
Allison Fisher
Billy Stephen
Buddy Hall
Charlie Williams
Corey Harper
Dan Louie
Danny DiLiberto
Earl Strickland
Fran Crimi
Frank Tullos
Fransciso Bustamante
Gene Albrecht
Hunter Lombardo
Joe Tucker
John Brumback
John Schmidt
Karen Corr
Kelly Fisher
Lee Brett
Mark Wilson
Max Eberle
Mike Sigel
Nick Varner
Paul Portier
Ralph G. Eckert

List away.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'd have to say Tony Robles, because he's active on the pro circuit (and specifically winning many of the regional tours around the area, e.g. his own Predator tour), as well as being an EXCELLENT well-known instructor in the NY area.

Hunter Lombardo has studied the systems of many talented coaches and players, as well as labored to develop a powerful system of his own. In speaking to him, it is clear that he has both the commitment and talent to get the message across to a student. He gets my vote.

The best pool playing-instructor? That's Mark Wilson.
The best Instructor-pool player? That's another thread.

List moved to first post in thread...

I do not know if Bill Incardona coaches or not. But with his knowledge, he may be a good coach.

Well that's an easy answer: Fran Crimi.

Been seeing her since August till present and words cannot explain how much I've improved since then. Exponentially comes close.

I hope Scott Lee,,,,,,,,see ya Friday Scott

Lee Brett ?

Sorry, but I can't add the above instructors to the list based upon these posts. I need statements from posters who KNOW or BELIEVE THEY KNOW, how well the instructor plays pool.

If someone at a later date says that these instructors are some of the BEST pool-playing INSTRUCTORS that they know of, I will then add them to the list. I'll keep updating the list as we go along. I'm always curious as to what others believe or know.

Thanks for all of the posts. Keep them coming. How about from across the pond and a few other continents?

I would add one now, Colin Colenso; but I am not sure if he REGULARLY teaches pool. He was a good player who understood the game better than most. Since I am not sure if he REGULARY teaches pool, I will not add him to the list.

Let's not make this hard. Stan. Was already mentioned lets add Robin Dobson, she can teach anyone to jump! Allison Fisher can teach the most important part of the game with the best of them, I'm talking about fundamentals. Charlie 'Hillbilly' Bryant is putting out some really good stuff. And how about Dr Cue? I could come up with ten names that I have spent time with and their individual game is just as good as their instruction!

That makes no sense. Why wouldn't I know if she's my teacher? If she didn't play good pool, why would I see her time after time again? You realize she IS an instructor right?

"Crown City" Corey Harper. 2003 UPA Rookie of the Year Runner-up (to John Schmidt, I believe), won an IPT qualifier and gives SOLID instruction out of his shop in Pasadena.

I don't really think it matters if the Instructor can play good or not.

Look at Tiger wood's coaches. I bet none of them can beat him. But they know the mechanics and how to physically move, the expected result of every movement and their consequences. But I doubt they could beat any of the top pros.

Renegade_56...You're gonna love pool school! See you guys Friday at 8am!

JoeyA...Everybody knows that instructors can't play (personally, I only play good enough to win...and know how to teach that)! LMAO My vote would be Hohman (Germany), or Eberle (USA)

Sorry. Maybe I didn't understand your post.

So are you saying that Fran is a top, pool-playing instructor?

I have never seen Fran play so I don't have any judgment on her level of play.

I don't doubt for a minute that Corey or many other players are qualified to give SOLID pool instruction. Does he regularly provide pool instruction as a REGULAR source of income?

There are many people who can teach but don't do so on a regular basis and while they might give a lesson here and there, they are not making money from it on a regular basis.

Tony Robles has a reputation for providing pool lessons for a profit, ON A REGULAR BASIS.

Ray Martin is a cueing instructor but I don't think he is REGULARLY giving pool lessons. I am really talking only about people who REGULARLY give pool lessons for a profit.

Now that I think about it, I will have to add Gene Albrecht. He certainly gives pool lessons on a regular basis and he does do it for profit on a REGULAR basis.

I'm positive Billy would be an excellent coach or instructor and that he is a top poo-playing instructor, but I don't think he REGULARLY teaches pool for profit.
