Who is the BEST pool-playing INSTRUCTOR?

Must have missed this thread.

SVB giving lessons...and easily the best player in the country.

[/THREAD]

I can't put Shane on this list because I don't believe Shane REGULARLY provides pool lessons. Same thing for Ralf Souquet and others.

Unless someone says that a pro player REGULARLY provides pool lessons, I cannot in good conscience add them to this list.

Hi JoeyA, (its me, the thorn in your paw.)

My feelings were very hurt..Simply because you have found another method (albeit insidiously) to bring teacher's and 'aiming systems' together in a thinly veiled manner..:o

The bottom line is STILL what you said (in red) in YOUR post. You simply cannot make a silk purse, out of a sow's ear..I wonder how many instructor's just groan, when they see a new pupil, with zero hand/eye coordination. Do they tell him up front, or do they encourage him to spend more $$$, knowing he'll never be an APA 3..at best :o Granted, there are some people who aspire to play at that level...But why ?

As I have said many times to you and John B... you can take all the lesson's you want, and learn all the ASSystems you can...Bottom line is, as you yourself finally admitted, We are not all created equal.

PS..I take that to mean, you will NEVER progress to a 'top player' WITHOUT that magic ingredient called TALENT..

It's all right Dick. I don't mind you putting in your shot of Yukon Jack into any old thread I post in.

I've finally trained that other attack dog (stalker) to "stay" and he's been a good little boy and hasn't been crying about the sky falling, well, at least not in my threads recently. :D The Wilson Leash is doing a fine job. For you, there's no hope. Just order up another bottle of Yukon Jack and it will all be good for you.

Now that you mention it, while we aren't all created equal in all things, an aiming system or two might be able to even up the measure.:grin::grin:

But seriously, you can't believe that diatribe you are spouting about people not being able to improve their game through good pool instruction? I know it's the Yukon Jack talking. It's ok, my man. Enjoy yourself.

i don't think shane is ready to be an instructor at this point in his life and its just not for him. I think there is a big difference between sharing some tips and being a actual instructor.

I agree with this.

Bob Leblanc

I'm not familiar with Bob LeBlanc. Can someone else confirm that Bob is a top playing instructor who plays VERY WELL and provide cueing instruction on a REGULAR basis?

Thanks Henho.
Where is Bob from? I don't know all of the instructors and that is one of my personal reasons for starting this thread, to give credit to those instructors who not only teach pool on a REGULAR basis but who play VERY WELL.

I don't know how you play Fran and I know that it is an honor for someone to mention your name. The poster mostly alluded to the fact that their game had improved dramatically because of your instruction and I am sure that is gratifying to both of you as it should be.

Bambu stated that you are a force to reckon with and that is why your name has been added to the list. The other poster didn't really say anything about your "best pool-playing" credentials.

As to NY, I have never been there. I hear it's quite expensive. I would love to play you some pool sometime but I doubt if coming to NY to play you is in the cards.

If you are coming down to New Orleans for the vacation or holidays, please let me know and I would be happy to play you.

JoeyA

Actually, Bambu is a plant. I told him to say that. Now what do you think?

I don't have any interest in playing you at all, but if you'd like to come to NY and give me whatever test you have to give to determine if I can play, feel free.

Hunter Lombardo has been doing great in tournaments lately and I think his fundamentals are as good as anyone I have ever seen hit a ball.

There might be a couple already on the list who might be a slight favorite over him in a long race but not too many!

I need to get to Florida and get some instruction!

I would say Tony Crosby should be on the list he teaches here in Florida and still plays very well

Joey, You missed my late PPS in post #39....And please do not play the "age card" on me..:p :p ("drunk card" is OK :D)

Into the old folks home you go. If you can't keep up, just get out of the way.

Have young people been honking their horn at you, lately? If they have, it's not because of those cool looking sunglasses you wear. :D

OK, I'm a nice guy, I'll try and help out an old thorn like you. See post #42.

As to your first paragraph, I think you like to play games. Bambu seems like a person who has their own words to say and doesn't allow other people to pick or choose his words, so I say that is POPPYCOCK.

On the second paragraph. My bad! From your other post, I thought you were challenging me to a match. :D

FWIW, I have always heard that you are a good instructor and I've read some of your instructional material over the years. I just hadn't heard that you were one of the lead potentates when it comes to swinging that pool stick. It's always good to know who the best player instructors are.
In fact, I think I may have sent you an email once upon a time inquiring about something many years ago but I could be wrong. If I sent you an email inquiring about pool, I must respect your knowledge of pool.

You guys giotta cut this stuff out because it ain't workin' the way it was suppose to. The whole idea was to get the aiming system instructors at the top of the most recommended list, that's why the initial parameters were set up the way they were.

If you guys keep bringing up guys like Tony Crosby, Tony Robles, Hunter Lombardo, Billy Incardona, John Schmidt, Mike Sigel, Ray Martin, Dallas West, Kelly Fischer, Sailor, Bobby LeBlanc, and Fran, THAT doesn't happen.

I don't doubt for a minute that Corey or many other players are qualified to give SOLID pool instruction. Does he regularly provide pool instruction as a REGULAR source of income?

There are many people who can teach but don't do so on a regular basis and while they might give a lesson here and there, they are not making money from it on a regular basis.

Tony Robles has a reputation for providing pool lessons for a profit, ON A REGULAR BASIS.

Ray Martin is a cueing instructor but I don't think he is REGULARLY giving pool lessons. I am really talking only about people who REGULARLY give pool lessons for a profit.

Now that I think about it, I will have to add Gene Albrecht. He certainly gives pool lessons on a regular basis and he does do it for profit on a REGULAR basis.

Why don't YOU do a little research before you question someone's bonafides as an "instructor"? Corey's 2 main sources of income are selling equipment and REGULARLY giving instruction out of his shop in Pasadena. Think about it, he really only has the shop to give instruction since he could just as easily sell equipment online.

This is the research center.

If you are saying that Corey REGULARLY teaches pool then he goes on the list.

My personal little stalker returns. How nice.

It is a shame that you have me on ignore. :killingme:
