Nnot really, no ... and doubt itIMO there are a lot of "unknowns" out there just waiting to show their heads.
Think Jason Shaw. My impression is that no one knew him a few months ago. I have a feeling there are a lot of players that have their own tables that don't play in tournaments. Anyone remember when the IPT tour started? Players from every stripe came out of the woodworks; lots of them were pretty sporty too.
But then I'm speaking from the perspective of Hard Times in Bellflower, CA.
Even SVB said that when he went to Asia to play he came across lots of players that could play at the professional level yet are unknown to the rest of the world.
Nonetheless, isn't it great to see our pool of great players growing and growing?! At this pace those sponsorships (and the money) should grow as well.
Anyone know who the guy is that beat Stevie (I believe it was 6-0) at the Rum Runner's tournament? Thank you. Johnnyt
Johnny,
Remember these are small Diamonds. Magic rack in use. Race to six. Winner breaks. A few years ago, I beat the previous years winner 6 zip. Not as difficult as you may think. In that event, you could break from the side. The one was on the spot. An employee of Rum Runner was the designated racker / referee. Keep your opponent on the defense (or in his seat) and he can't win. Oh, by the way, this is a GREAT event!

On a bar box...you can lose just by losing the flip of the coin or lag.
Some people specialize in just playing on a bar box.
You can't even get them on a big table.
Bar box and playing on a 9 footer are two different games.
Ive only played one real tourney on diamond minis and i did not miss a shot i was trying to make, all event.
The break was far easier to execute too, an i generally break well on the full sizer,
Only thing that keeps me from being a wirld beater on the littl tables? The fact tha everybody els plays better there too!
