Who is your pick to win the upcoming Turning Stone Classic VII 9-Ball Open?

I may or may not be there. But I will NOT be rooting for Allen Hopkins!!!

Originally, I picked Throsten but seeing as how he's been replaced, I'd have make Manolo the odds on favorite followed by Ralph Souquet. The only other person who I think has a strong chance of winning is Dennis Hatch.

Odds on? You got that bet if you want it.:)

I have to know, why are some players in bold font? Whenever this is done, I really really wish there were an explanation for it. I live in Joss-Territory and can't make heads or tails of it.

I like your pick! :D

I love typing, Keith, and the IPT. Keith McCready for 2008 -- I mean winner of Turning Stone! :p

We like Joss country, and Team McCready plans on giving it their all. I will provide updates while on site. I love this casino. The people who work their really like pool players too. I'm leaving tonight, AFTER rush hour!

I am going and staying at "The Hotel" and was wondering if anyone knows if they have high-speed internet in the rooms. Thanks.

I know there is only one LOCAL access number for dial-up/modem hook-ups in Verona, New York, and it is an AOL number. All others are charged at a LONG-DISTANCE rate.

As far as high-speed hook-up, I honestly cannot remember. I wasn't hooking up via high speed the last time I was there. I was on dial-up/modem.

However, right across the hallway from the tournament room, there is a business center. It has limited hours, though, like 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., I think. They have three computers in there. They charge $10 for 15 minutes of use. The lady in there knows me now, seeing me at other Joss/Turning Stone events, and she lets me post for FREE! ;)

I'm picking Souquet to win it all, this guy just can't have a bad tournament at the moment. I would also look for the young gun Erik Hjorleifson to finish well.

Hey JAM, any updates on Keith's match with Dave Fernandez?

He's a NE boy so we chowdah-heads are interested in how the match went.

Thanks!!

They're getting ready to play at noon, about a half hour from now. Keith is practicing, hitting balls. I haven't seen Dave Fernandez quite yet. I have heard of him, but I can't place who he is. I'm sure when I see him, I will recognize him from other tournaments I have attended.

These first matches of the day are always the toughest, IMO. I've been awake for several hours, and my eyes are still not focused-in yet, and then there's my aching body, trying to get loosened up.

I'll definitely post back with how the match goes. I'm a little nervous about this one.

Thanks, JAM. Best of luck to both players. Here's a pic of Dave.
