Umm, WOW.

http://www.jbcases.com/doc.html

This case is sick, and one of the things I really like about it is the reduced number of rivets and the fact that the base leather is just a continuous piece with all that carving and it looks like the seam was in the area where the arm strap is attached so that it does not interfere with the art of the case.

It also has an interior without tubes it seems. You can basically take a case style like the one above with a shell, put a wooden cap on the base (it already has metal feet, win!), a Thomas style of lid, and it would be pretty much my perfect dream case, only gotta design the carving and colors at that point.

Erofey Evladin - I introduced his cases to the forum in September.

Here is the thread with a picture of one of the cool machine-embossed cases that he does.

Yes you did, and Thank you......These cases are the finest I've ever had in my hands...Very Very nice work, and the case John is speaking of is a original work of art...just beautiful....a lot of work went into the case.....I've had 4 of those cases in my possession, and the new owners are very impressed with the craftsmanship..If anybody has any questions feel free to pm me..

What kind of price range are the cases?

I went to JB's link on his thread for Erofey Cases but every case says "price available upon request" and gets you to fill out a bunch of information that then gets sent to whomever and they take however long to get back to you (or not at all). Kind of a pet peeve of mine when people try to do stuff like that. Better to just put the price out there IMO, every other case maker on the internet is letting the consumer know what their cases cost without making them jump through hoops.

They are made by a gentleman from Russia....His name is Erofey....What do you think??

Those are some of the nicest cases Ive ever seen. they look like they protect pretty well also. whats the pricing like?

One thing Id like in a case is something that is comfortable to carry around. The only one Ive had so far that was comfortable to carry was a whitten.

The 2x4 case weighs in at 4.5 lbs....One of the many compliments I've received on these cases is the weight...pm me if you need any pricing..

I have a couple questions,

How exactly are the interiors done? I just reread the thread and see that Erofey sent people pictures of my interiors but according to your pictures they are not like mine. What is the cardboard that Erofey is talking about when describing his interiors?

There is obviously a huge influence from Erofey's handbags in the case design and I am wondering if the same techniques for making the interior were applied.

I am always curious about new case makers and their solutions for the interior. As you know I am a stickler when it comes to protection and since I am also a cheapskate I probably won't be buying an Erofey case anytime soon to check it out. I never buy competitor's cases anyway, I trade for them :-)

By the volume of cases you put up for sale it seems as if you cornered the market on them anyway so none of us can probably get a case now from Erofey even if we wanted to. For $260 though I might have to give him my FedEx number. I am sure I can get the case sent from Russia with love for less than $100.

i've never understood what made a 'good' case (not a good looking one), as long as it had specific slots for shaft and butt that were firm, isn't it okay? can anyone enlighten me? that and joint protectors (ok well i somewhat see the purpose of those)

my 1x1 excalibur case has been surving me very well and was very cheap. it seems to protect well if it is hit, and i always leave the cue at room temperature.

i like the protection that instroke cases offer. lots of padding and a sturdy exterior.

For the most proctection I like GTF cases. Johnnyz86 makes a good point though any hard case and in most circumstances even soft case provide adaquate protection. How often does a cue get damaged while in a case. Have you ever heard someone say I should have spent that extra $ on a case and my cue would not have been damaged?

Decades ago, I had a soft case for my single cue. My car wouldn't start, borrowed my moms car. Mom was a short lady, 5'3"...me a foot taller. I placed the single cue case on the floor of the car behind the seat. Got in the car, shoved the car seat to full back position, then heard the "Crack"..:embarrassed2:

My next cue got a hard suitcase style case. They weren't making porper of Guiseppe back then (1960's)...soft envelope of the suitcase style was about it.

Today, lots of choices, none of them really bad.
