Who plays with a Fury Cue?

Just wondering, as I don't see them mentioned on here too much, I guess it's because they have only been around for about 10 years. I just got a Fury DL-6 about a month ago, and I like it. I upgraded the tip to an Everest, and I think it hits good. Im no expert, but I like it better then my Players with a LePro tip. I know a lot of you have custom cues, but just wondering how many Fury cues there are among us :) Pics if ya got em. I'll post some tomorrow.

A friend has one of their break cues, however I don't think I've ever seen a regular playing cue from them.

I play with several of them from the DL to the Evolution. I work for Fury though so I have access to all the Fury cues I want. BUT I will gamble and use my Fury cue so it counts there.

Rodney Morris used to play with Fury as did Jose Parica and Max Eberle. Kelly Fisher won her first pro event using a Fury cue and she is now sponsored by and plays with Fury cues again.

At the upcoming Super Billiards Expo we should be announcing the addition of another champion who chose - and I stress the world CHOSE - Fury to play with.

Cue sticks do get a little furry after a lot of use but light sanding with 1500 paper should polish them up. :withstupid:

I started playing with a Fury RP about 6 or 7 years ago. I still use it all the time, and added the Fury jump/break when they first came out.
I got a chance to test the Fury Evolution cue a little bit at a trade show, and am trying to talk them into letting me put one to some serious competition. Excellent cues for the money!

Original edition of the Fury JB-RW jump/break cue -- five years old now

I have a Fury JB-RW jump/break cue, and one of the first editions/revisions no less. (The two joints in mine are different and non-interchangeable -- you can only mate the forearm with the shaft, not the butt to the shaft. Fury later revised the JB-RW where the two joints are the same, and you can mate the latter butt end [the one with the butt cap] directly to the shaft.)

It's going on five years old now, and still my main breaker/jumper. I did have the original carbon-graphite tip/ferrule replaced with a phenolic, because I'd mushroom and destroy the tip of the former after only half a dozen breaks. (I consider myself as having a somewhat respectable break; was clocked at last year's SBE in the mid- to upper-20s.) After replacing the carbon-graphite tip/ferrule with a phenolic, I haven't had a problem with mushrooming since.

I'll have it with me (and will be using it) in the 10-ball Championship. I consider it my good luck charm, so I'm hoping it lives up to its distinction. :) (And before the humor-challenged pipe up -- yes, I know it's the Indian, not the arrow. :p )

my signature used to say "buy american" but to be honest i'd play with a fury if for some reason i had to replace all my cues with 1 and i felt like saving dough.

i do with they made a few planer designs

...which, FYI, are made by Fury.

Well, to be accurate. There are now two versions of KwikFire cues. Fury is making the new line under Kelly's KwikFire brand. Those are called KwikFire by Fury.

Carolina Cues also makes a line under the KwikFire brand.

Kelly is now sponsored by Fury and if anyone wants to see her line or any other Fury cues and how they hit please stop by and see us at the Super Billiards Expo.

Kelly will be there doing exhibitions and challenge matches.

Also we have a surprise scheduled for all our visitors when we introduce the newest Team Fury member. He is a well known champion.

I am under the impression that Carolina Cue makes Quickfire cues. If not, there is a big difference in price between Kwikfire and Fury.

I have been in Carolina Cue's shop and I would have sworn that I saw some of Kelly's cues in production.

Fury makes a nice stick for the price, but I believe that the woods that Val and Kelly use are more exotic. Kwikfire is a nice option if you want to buy American and pay for the highest quality.

JB- Sorry, I posted this after your post. That clears things up. I have also learned that Kelly is no longer sponsored by CharlotteMetroAPA. I hope things go well for her. And good luck with your new line.

I played with a FURY cue for many years...I even stood in front of a crowd of 400 people, and yelled "UNLEASH THE FURY!!!" at the top of my lungs (very deep lungs). I was getting a standing Ovation for shooting the finale trick shot at the APA nationals in Vegas 2004-5. (I'll bet some of you were there)

I used my Fury cue when I set every current world record regarding masse. I used it in both of my best finishes in World Championships of trick shots, 6th, and then 5th. I shot my high run in straight pool of 199 with my Fury. I have broke, and ran over 10000 racks of nine ball with my FURY (not a j/b the same playing cue)I once even won a single game of one pocket with it.

Something I learned while living in the south is that proof is in the results and hype is a bunch of crap. Anyone can sit around and make up their own BS create some illusion of grandness...some people eat it and some dont...

FURY makes a great cue...IT HAS BEEN MADE FACT WITH RESULTS!

PS. The cue I have was the most expensive model they made at the time...I changed the ferrule, tip, and wrap.

BTW I am not getting paid to say this...long story.

I can't believe I hit the submit button...;)

Jamison,
Considering your history with the company, I am pleased to see that you are able to put that aside and give an honest evaluation of the product. You just gained some respect from me, for whatever it's worth!

Do you know what booth # Fury has been assigned ?

I lived in China and several of the pros I know there use Fury cues, People you have never heard of outside of China, but VERY stong players.

i met a really strong player in japan that swore by his fury cue. he had a couple of really nice cues, i'm pretty sure one was a really fancy traditional styled skip weston& a szam but it had a neyon snake skin wrap, but he only used his fury when it counted

Fury is in the Special Events Arena. It's about a 6 booth block as shown on the map. Stop in and see us. We always have something going on!

Its nice to see some Fury love! I was beginning to think I was the only one who had one. :) I've noticed whenever anyone asks what cue they should get on a budget, the usual answers are McDermott, Viking etc...., but nobody ever recommends Fury. I'll have to start chiming in on those threads :)
