From a customer service standpoint, it makes sense to give APA 3's and 4's more ice in their drinks. The tradeoff is less substance, but this could be a win-win. It would be interesting to hear formulas waitresses could use to evaluate skill levels accurately on the fly. Cross-platforming could spawn a whole new generation of tournament directors, as well, at a time when businesses are looking for ways to reinvent.

Tickets were efficient at the point of sale for school lunches, but the tehcnology evolved to electronic debit cards.

Every bar loves when my league team rolls into their establishment. And everyone wants us playing out of their place.

We eat, drink and tip.

For the most part we all have that one night to ourselves from our busy lives and aren't there to save money.

These are the players I roll with. Wouldn't have it any other way.

The owners at my hall are good to the league players. If you are in league or a regular 10$ for a table no time limit when you come in any time. Use to be 5$ but covid has increased costs. In my area of canada usually it is 10-15 an hour per person. So it is a great deal.

Leagues are the money maker. The leagues pull 60 people in drinking for 4-5 hours. Even better if you have a kitchen. 4 or 5 different leagues different nights. Friday Saturday night party kids also help. Right now no leagues, no weekend partiers mean alot less income.

I always tip, and get a few drinks. When they have been open during the last year i tip more because i know the staff could use it. I am lucky enough to have a good job so i try to help out if i can.

Last several weeks I have made some new friends that I started teaching to play better and in general hanging out with them and chatting. Those guy have started to buy my drinks (last night 3 of them) so the food orders have increased, but luckily not from my wallet LOL

For some places tournaments and leagues are their main revenue source so would be higher level players for the most part.

We had a little Pool bar in Phx, owner dads was not big spender. But he help kill the place drinking free beer, I saw the writing on wall.

Then he gave free drink to friend, and special people.

People who are clueless think it would be cool to own a, ______ fill in blank.

Most who do not understand business go bust loosing there investment.

In our non-alcoholic poolroom / grill, the regulars that come in to eat 4-5 days a week, sometimes 2 meals in the same day but never play pool, spend more $ in total than virtually all the regular pool players, who don’t eat here nearly as much.

Well the little pace that I spoke of that was shut down was a Pool Bar, had 7 3.5 X 7 Bar Boxes, honestly the food was noting special, and it did have full Liquor License. But was not run by rocket scientists who understood business.

Could have done OK, if the owner took care of business, but like I said they were complacent, and it went under. Pool Room, or Bar with Pool Table is tought business.

Honestly many in the Valley of the Sun are closed, and never reopened. Customers see a place that looks like a Gold Mine, but most barely survive.

Recall on place called Alexander's, it was place that hosted many major tournments, then one day it close. Had it been a gold mine, it would still be open, and the owner depositing the gold in the bank account.

Good work. The league guys I see, and that’s not often at all, they come to my room and barely drink and never tip. And they use that shitty chalk that smears in the table. Thankfully I don’t go in very often in the evenings to see them.

This is probably a bit skewed as to what a "pool player" is. Many on AZB are buying $2,000 cues and own $50,000 cars, and may of the "pool players" at the bars are coming out of them with $100-200 drink tabs. While some people that say they are "pool players" play 2 games a night at some bar that actually do make 30k a year, but are they "pool players" or just "a guy that holds a cue stick every so often because they are bored".
