So to all of you guys not being sure about the speed this kid plays.....

Carlio Biado, who just won the 10-Ball tournament with a super tough field at Hard Times was DESTROYED 9-0 by Ko Pin-Yi....

I'm really looking forward to how the US Open continues...so many top players already on the one-loss side already...oh btw Lee van also wins 9-0 against Mike Dechaine...pretty strong...

My favourites to win the whole thing are Ko, Wu and Orcullo....what do you guys think?

Biado

I think Ko Pin-Yi's win over Biado is amazing - assuming it wasn't a forfeit.

I look forward to seeing Wu play, maybe against either Lee Van or Ko in the hot seat match. A number of these guys are capable of running away with a match and blanking their opponent. Earl beat Nick 11-0 once when Nick was number 1 in the world. I think Grady even beat Buddy 11-0 once. I also seem to remember Mika losing like that in a big match against Corey once. It happens. Biado could come back and win the rematch 9-0.

Jay Helfert has been tell us for years about these Chinese and Taiwanese players that will destroy American players. Well Jay.... We are getting a taste of it right now aren't we?

He arguably with Chang Jung Lin is no1 player out of taiwan. He has had some strong finishes in the world 9 ball and there used to be a video of him on youtube in the final of Guinness 10 ball championship where he destroys SVB don't really know what happened to it. I'd really like to know from someone over there about what happened in Ko's and Corteza's matches.

Time to start watching some real international matches. Ko Pin Yi is a very strong player from Taiwan. There are still a good amount of players absent from overseas that can play this well.

Lee He Wen, Chang Jun Lin, Yang Chin Shun, Chang Yu-Lung all missing from this tournament. All 4 are monsters!

Yup, and several other young folks that can shoot the lights out as well. If you saw the all Japan open last year, the Taiwanese-loaded field destroyed everyone.

if you get the chance, on youtube check out Dennis Orcollos match vs Ko Ping Chung (Ko Pin Yis younger brother) in the Japan open. No doubt the field from that tournament was pretty scary.

Yea I saw that one on stream. Too many players in Asia who when catches a gear can beat any of the world's best on any given day. This US Open 10 ball is quite a treat this year, almost the level of play in a major international tournament.

I'd like to see Lee Vann or Ko in a TAR match. Wang Can too. Some new faces rather than XXX vs SVB all the time. LeeVann has earn the rights for sure with 2 big 1st place wins this year.

Maybe do an elite 8 showdown.

Was this the kid who was hitting balls on the main table about 11 pm or thereabouts last night ? Looked like he was about 13 years old but he could play all right.

It's hard to keep track of these monsters from the far east. We americans don't get to see them play that much and tracking/remembering their triple 2 and 3 letter names, that they flip flop back and forth (make up your mind what your first name is PLEASE! ;)) is difficult for us foreigners.

I appreciate those that report from the other side of the world (JB fo shore). Us cheeseburger eating fat americans can use a little more educations bout them dudes over there. And I weally do appreciate their game.

Yeah and his little brother plays better. :-)

So did Ko accept Shane's 20k challenge? heard only crickets on that one.

Chinese and Korean names ALWAYS have the family name first.

It is only us westerners who insist on changing things around to fit our system

When western players come to China, the Chinese are smart and polite enough not to change the name to fit their system.they don't call Allison Fisher " Fisher Allison"

I don't mind if a commentator forgets the exact name of a new up'n'coming asian player.
But it does seem disrespectful when they're like "What was his name? Wing Ding?
Ching Chong Chang? Something like that". Just say "I can't recall his name
but I'll make sure to find out" instead of making a wisecrack out of it.

Ko Pin Yi is one to watch in any 10b event. It might be like 1 mph slower than shane's
(if that) but the cue ball just dies on the head spot super consistently whereas
shane's goes wild or gets kicked more often.

Did someone say the little brother has already run like a 9-pack?!
He seems to have copied his brother's hair and his break in that all-japan video.
We may see them face each other in a finals someday.
