Who wants to make my Next cue???

I don't know if this is the place to ask but I figured since all the cue makers are here this would be as good as any..

I just had Walter Kelly make me a 4 point Hoppe style cue and I really enjoyed the experience. So I think I'm going to get a few more made.

Here is what I want... NO LONGER THAN 9 MONTH WAIT!!

1. 4 point, 4 veneer, stainless steel joint, inlay in the butt sleeve and in points, derilin butt cap.

2. Southwest/Onley/SugarTree style all wood cue, dark wood forearm (Cocobolo, Rosewood) light points (BEM, CM), all wood butt sleeve with rings.

3.Titelist Conversion Bumper less, MOP Inlay.

I'm looking to spend $800 -$1200 on each cue.

People I had in mind are Steve Klapp, Mike Webb, Jeff Onley (too long of a wait), Leon Sly.
I am open to suggestions tho...

Please PM me if you are interested in doing a cue for me and have the time and patience. lol

Not too many cue builders would want to build this cue exactly as you describe it. Cue builders would discuss the aspects of your choices and change a few things to more align with their own cue styles. There are reasons for negotiations.

You can post anywhere you prefer but the Cue Maker Section seems to be an ideal location.
This section is more after the fact by owners of cues, although some cue-makers post progress photos here.

Your best bet is to just pick 1/2 dozen or so cue-makers and call them to see what they have to say. However,
I don't know if they'll be inclined to compete for your business since you've already identified several you have in mind.

You might test the Cue Maker section and see what kind of reaction you get. If that doesn't pan out, start a WTB thread
and mention how many cues and the amount for each just like you've described. You get some hits for sure.

Not really wanting anyone to compete for my business. I didn't mean it to sound like One cue maker was going to make all 3. I want 3 different cue makers to make 3 different cues. They are for my personal collection. Thanks.

Most people go to one CM over another because they have been exposed the CM's work and have played with one or more of his cues.

To be honest with you, you should play with and closely examine the quality of some CMs work. Without that basic assessment, all you will have is a pig in a poke chance of getting something that you will want to play with for the long haul.

There are a lot of ways to make a cue feel to the player, it is your job to find a match to your liking. JMO

ProZack......you should heed Rick's counsel.

First....... because he's an extraordinarily talented cue-maker and knows what he talking about.

Secondly.....he isn't trying to grab your business and tells it like it is.....he's truthful, candid & very straightforward.

Thirdly.....my own experience is that when you do not have prior experience with a cue-maker, you essentially rubber stamp the opinion of others.
And so when you don't like the hit of the cue you just had made, who ya gonna blame?
