You know, the one who made Danny Basavich look petite! This was your first match in the Pro-Am and the banter between you two was hilarious! I got the distinct impression that you had crossed paths many times before. I wish I could have recorded you both. I loved the line, "I gotta drink to deal with people like you!" ---Worth the price of admission just to see that single match!

Hi, Beetle. That masked man was none other than Gypsy from New York City. I don't even know his real name, but he's a regular on the regional tournament trail.

Actually, Gypsy packs a mean break. When I saw him competing with a young fellow at the Joss Turning Stone Casino event last month, he made three 9-balls on the break in the set. Hes definitely got game.

And he is as sweet as sweet can be, always giving of himself to help others, players needing transportation to an event, et cetera. I really like him as a person and a player, and when Keith and Gypsy get going, it's quite entertaining. They actually love each other's company on and off the table. :)

I'm going to try to find a picture of him and post it up. He's one of a kind, and it is always a pleasure running into him on the tournament trail.

Thanks JAM, though they were having some heated exchanges, I had the impression is was somewhat tongue-in-cheek at the same time. It was great entertainment!

Mark Pantovic (aka - Gypsy) from New York City is definately one of the games most animated characters.

And if I'm not mistaken, the match at Turning Stone was 4 nines on the break and one combo'd 9-ball all within a span of 6 or 7 racks.

Gypsy is funny son of a gun. It may seem like we're having heated exchanges when we're playing each other, but we're really not. He always tries really hard to win, no matter who he's playing. And you are right, Gypsy is very entertaining.

Before the start of the Valley Forge Pro/Am match, Gypsy was outside smoking a cigarette, woofing at me, trying to get my goat, but it was all in fun. He made a couple mistakes during the match. If I would have lost the first set, it could have been disastrous for me. He's dangerous on a bar table when he gets comfortable and loose. He can run a lot more racks on a bar table than he can on a big table. Playing alternate break format, anything can happen, a couple bad rolls here, a couple bad rolls there, and splash.

I've never heard of him but from the descriptions here he sounds like quite the character. Does anyone know if he applied to the IPT? Sounds like he would be a wonderful addition and he has the game to boot.
