Please let it be shane, then he should retire on top and fish and manage real estate.

He is a well deserving champion

Kevin Cheng to win iit

On paper, Shane is the slight favorite over the others
But this is only 1 match so a lot depends on their form and the tv table / crowd conditions on the day itself. Any of the 4 can win it on the day. All 4 have pedigree having won at least a major (Alex- W9B, US Open/Shane-US Opens/Kevin-US Open/Albin-China Open)
Kevin Cheng and Albin are the most battle hardened of the 4 having faced tougher opponents in most of their 4 knockout rounds matches. Plus they have youth on their side
This is Kevin's best performance at the worlds so the pressure is on Shane and Kevin really has nothing to lose. Kevin is Shane's strongest opponent so far and Shane may be in for a surprise.
Albin is hungrier than Alex to win since his loss in final to Niels 2 years ago
While the conventional wisdom is it will be Shane v Alex final, I am going contrarian on this one-My guess is it will be Kevin Cheng v Albin final and Kevin winning it with his more complete game and better temperament.
So my pick is Kevin Cheng

Total Win-Loss Racks of 4 matches (last 64 to Qtr)
Shane 44-26
Alex 44-34
Kevin Cheng 44-29
Albin 44-29

Semifinals:
Albin over Alex
Shane over Kevin

Finals:
Shane over Albin
Yes yes, but we all know how the world loves to "b!0w" Alex...
"He's found his love for the game again, blah blah barf!"
Albin is a good player, I must admit. Should be fun to watch.

There was a news article that mentioned that between the semi's and the finals, Albin went back to his Hotel room to cool off, have a bite to eat, and relax. Whereas Shane went straight to the practice table and stayed there until minutes before the finals.

Shane seemed kind of gassed in the finals, whereas Albin looked sharp and fresh.

Thoughts?

So Albin went back to his room to relax....
...Shane should have put on different clothes...
'Cause a change is as good as a rest.

I watched these 2 play in the finals of the Challenge of Champions which went a set a piece & then a final tiebreaker game which Shane won. What I noticed in that match was both players were extremely nervous in the sudden death game missing balls they would not normally miss with the final game going numerous innings.

Fast forward to the WPA finals yesterday & I saw the same nervousness & lack of focus in Shane. Albin on the other hand looked, calm, focused & in a flow state, capitalizing on Shane's numerous errors. It appears Albin has come to terms with the mental game demons that arise in matches of great importance where Shane has not.

Well that's just silly!
US Opens, how many times?
World Pool, how many times?
Ten Ball everything, how many times?
Over analyzing just a bit here...
Watch that match again, Albin played great, he really did, but, in the first 7 or 8 racks, he got every roll known to Pool Gods... I'd calm down quicker too, it was just his time, he deserves it, and nothing should be taken from him.
SVB may never win this one or maybe he will, who knows. In my opinion, this might be the tournament that an older SVB finally wins, kinda like Busty did...
