I heard there was a big Speed pool tournament at the VNEA championships in Vegas this year.I think they were giving away a speed boat or something.

Also who won the speed pool events at the BCA in Vegas? There's no results on their website!

Don't know who won the VNEA speed pool. But I know Jeff Boucher from Montana placed in it - think he was in the top 5. He placed 3rd in 8 ball masters and 5-6 in 9 ball masters. Using a plain jane John Madden cue - I am working on a break cue and his ultimate "playing cue".

Does anyone know what the first place prize was in the VNEA tournament.
Was it a speed boat?

The VNEA was won by a young spanish guy...can't recall his name but he was lightning fast, his qualifying time to get into the top 8 was 43 seconds. And yes, first place was a nice Bayliner speedboat...prizes were also given out the top 8. They included a Valley table and custom Lucasi cues.

Danny didn't play in any VNEA related events, come to think of it....I never saw him the whole time I was down there. Normally he sticks around after the BCA event and trolls for action, but I guess he's become more of a known commoditity and his action must have dried up.

At the BCA in Vegas, I believe Jason Kane won the speed pool. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I chatted with him shortly after his win, and I think he said he won the speed pool. If not, then he won the artistic pool, but I really believe it was the speed pool event that he said he won.
