Who Won?

JA called me after he won, man was he tired! I was so happy for him, Its a big lift for his mental game with the M-Cup comming up. He is in top form right now and only focused on the M-Cup.
He really takes alot of pride in that tournemet. Probably as much if not more than the US Open. I dont talk about pool with him much, I just listen to him, when pool comes up in conversation. Its kinda funny but were better friends away from pool. Pool is biz talk for him. He is aware of the fact that USA is a underdog this year, perhaps thats why the win is so important to him. I didnt ask him.

$15,000 for first, it came at a good time for him-or anyone for that matter these days. He wanted the win bad, and got it.
while i cant say that i always agree with thanks for noting that the US is the underdog in this years M-cup. i said that in another thread and got flamed for it. also congrats to JA for the win!

Can't get flamed for stating what appears to be a FACT. Mika and Ralf and Appelton are pretty tough to fade. I don't mean to say we don't have a chance or anything like that. JA and SVB for starters are also pretty tough to fade but imo they have the upper hand. It'lll be fun to watch/sweat!!!!! GO USA!!!!

see.... now THAT'S why I love az. Ya get to know folks and become friends and they can give you a poke, a little joking/kidding and it's all in fun just llike tippin a few with some buds at the ph.... except I don't do no tippin and I seldom see buds at the ph
:groucho:Got to remembering when I did "tip'm" with my buds. I'd get started tippin a few beers, switch to mixed drinks and drink until the place closed. THEN the drinking really got started! I'd go home and mix "a couple" before bed. Come dawn I'd still be sittin there drinking my Windsor and Pepsi and I'd be cleaning my weed. I always had a stash of tops that I was savin for me and special friends. I'd pour a few out on a night like I'm describin alll by myself, and I'd start cleaning them up for tasty smokin.
I'd get rid of EVERY TRACE of stick, seed hull, stem sliver... pretty much nothin left but resin. That was sweet weed(!), just tops and all cleaned up so there would be almost no contaminants to spoil the taste and the high. I'd spend hours sittin there sippin on my 90% whiskey mixed drink and smoking those tops. I'd keep it up 'till I couldn't get my hand to my mouth and then crawl off to bed. Too bad it got to be obsessive and compulsive and completely uncontrollable to the point where I was drinkin EVERY day, a pint to a quart of whiskey every day and was not able to stop... not for one single day.
Every day I'd wake up and swear "NOT TODAY" but within a couple hours the drunken little sh!t in the back of my head would have me believin that there was nuthin wrong with having a couple... and there isn't anything wrong with havin a couple. Trouble was that my disease had grown to the point where it was absolutely impossible to stop after a couple or a few. So... it's every night all night or nothing. It was about to kill me at 38 years old, so I've been choosing "none" every day for 28 years now, 10,214 days.... it'll be 28 years 11/29. Wow. It seems like yesterday. (no pot either... if I went back to pot I'd be smokin it all day every day just like I used to and then I'd start thinking there's nuttin wrong with a couple drinks..... )
