So as I sit here watching someone attempt the doctorate of the BU's second exam I had a thought.
Boy I would sure like to see Tor do this and it was right after that I said wait what about a pro? So I ask, would you like to see a Pro take the exam? And who would you like to see take it.

Me, I would like to see Neils and Thorsten. Is this so something that can be set up by chance, do any of you know either one and can ask them to post a YouTube video, I know Neils does the YouTube thing.

What do you guys think?

The German version of BU is PAT (playing ability test). Created by German player and master instructor Ralph Eckert.
In the DVDs a young Thorsten completes all test drills.

Link to dvds (which I believe are out of print now)http://www.bebobpublishing.com/Germany.htm

Ralph has since moved onto the check billiard app (http://www.checkbilliard.com/) which is a collection of drills based on the PAT material, and in the app, videos of Ralf Souquet running drills can be found.

Bertkinister.com has a few videos of a much younger Niels Feijen doing drills. These are great because you can see how he has progressed with the work ethic displayed in the videos.

If the person you were watching hasn't done so yet, please encourage him/her to post scores (and videos if available) on the AZB BU Sticky Thread.

Obviously, I think this is an awesome idea. I would love to see how high the bar can be set by some top pros dedicating some time to it.

I've asked a few pros I've met to try the exams. They seemed enthusiastic when we discussed it, but it takes time and hard work to achieve a high total score, even for a pro. The only pro we've had post so far is Marc Vidal. And if you want to see an awesome performance, I don't think anyone would characterize Gerry Williams impressive showing as non-pro. Scores and videos for both Marc and Gerry are on the AZB BU Sticky Thread.

Thanks again for your suggestion. Hopefully, AZB'ers out there who know pros personally will encourage them to give the BU playing-ability Exams a go. I will also continue to encourage top players I meet to post scores and videos.

Best regards,
Dave

They just might if not but just to shut me up, cause I'm gonna keep asking them. Thorsten hasn't posted in a year I think to youtube and Neil's I forgot. I'm going to ask a guy in the phillipeans to have Carlo and Jeffrey give it a try, fingers crossed.

Good job!

I look forward to seeing some bar-raising scores.
