Just wondering who everyone thinks will win the Patriot Cup.

Team North:
1. Allen Hopkins
2. Mika Immonen
3. Tony Robles
4. Corey Deuel
5. Rodney Morris

Team South:
1. Nick Varner
2. Buddy Hall
3. Johnny Archer
4. Charlie Williams
5. Tommy Kennedy

I think if I were a betting man I would take Team North but how hard is it to really pick a winner with all these world class players.

10 great players. No matter who wins, you'll see some great pool. Leaning towards Team South, but if it was a street brawl I'd pick Team North as Buddy Hall is the only guy on Team South that weighs more than 150 pounds. LOL

Ha ha. Yeah, you would think with the money some of these guys make they could afford to eat. :)
Should be a great contest.

My vote is for Team North! Both teams do have some tough competitors, but I still think Team North, as a whole, has more talent.

My pick will be Team North.

Tommy Kennedy is a great competitor, but he has not been competing as much lately. Also Charlie Williams has not been doing very we of late. Buddy Hall, well, he Buddy Hall, but I have not seen his name in the final 8 recently. Johnny and Nick will be the toughest players on the south team, whereas Team North has 4 of the final 12 players in the recent BCA event. Allen will be their weak point in my opinion, but still the strongest team over all.

IMHO

I lost money in Virginia last year picking Charlie over Allen Hopkins. Allen may not play in the big events, but he can still hit em good. He will also be getting some practice at that challenge match with Earl tomorrow.

On paper I would say Team North looks far superior. But what do I know. They will all be there having fun. It is probably more of an exhibition than a real contest. And I will be there, only six feet from the table, watching them play without really caring who wins. I will be the winner. Jake

PS - last year Mike Sigel was in the house, quite the gentleman, and he did sign my program. Maybe this year he will make a guest appearance at the table.

I would have to pick Team North.

Rodney Morris has been playing very good lately. I just think Team North has the odds in their favor.

It's true that Buddy and Nick are well into their fifties now and probably don't play as well as they used to at one time, however I would be hard pressed to ever bet against a team that they were both on. With the possible exceptions of Sigel and Efren, they they're are probably unequalled in their knowledge of pool.
