Can't ditch Captain Hook, he shoots lefty, and is a righty, like myself...In my youth I was lucky to have a lesson with Hal Mix and Nick Varner. Something a 14 year old won't forget, this was in New Mexico, and being able to chat it up with the Cowboy growing up puts him on the list as well. I guess this is more of a shout out to players that have actually influenced my game over the decades. That being said, it is a good list, and I am lucky to be influenced by such great players.I think Jimmy Moore and Nick Varner are my two all-time favorite players. If I had to bump someone to make room for Buddy it would be either Irving Crane or Mike Sigel, since one all-time great straight pool player from upstate NY is probably enough.
I am also a righty who shoots lefty. In fact, for the longest time I thought I was shooting right-handed, until a guy I was playing one day said to me, "So, you're a lefty." I said, "No, I'm right-handed," and he said, "Well, you're shooting left-handed."Can't ditch Captain Hook, he shoots lefty, and is a righty, like myself...In my youth I was lucky to have a lesson with Hal Mix and Nick Varner. If you could build your own "Dream Team" who would make the cut?
They do not have to be the "best" or "greatest" players of all-time, maybe they're just five of your favorites...
If you could choose any five pool/billiard players that have ever lived, during their primes, who would you place on your roster? You're also welcome to share your reasoning for your choices.
