Who's your TOP 5?

I think Jimmy Moore and Nick Varner are my two all-time favorite players. If I had to bump someone to make room for Buddy it would be either Irving Crane or Mike Sigel, since one all-time great straight pool player from upstate NY is probably enough.
Can't ditch Captain Hook, he shoots lefty, and is a righty, like myself...In my youth I was lucky to have a lesson with Hal Mix and Nick Varner. Something a 14 year old won't forget, this was in New Mexico, and being able to chat it up with the Cowboy growing up puts him on the list as well. I guess this is more of a shout out to players that have actually influenced my game over the decades. That being said, it is a good list, and I am lucky to be influenced by such great players.

I am also a righty who shoots lefty. In fact, for the longest time I thought I was shooting right-handed, until a guy I was playing one day said to me, "So, you're a lefty." I said, "No, I'm right-handed," and he said, "Well, you're shooting left-handed."

Very cool to be able to hang around and talk to Jimmy Moore, and to get a lesson with Varner and Mix.

how about hanging out with fats and his non stop talking for days. and every word was worth listening to.
and he does eat 4 dinners complete with the fixings. even beats detroit whitey if he is getting free food.

Willie Mosconi. Ralph Greenleaf. Irving Crane. Luther Lassiter. Willie Hoppe.
From a very young age I was always mesmerized by these early legends of the game.
I was able to meet Mosconi at an exhibition my dad took me to @1966 near Detroit. My uncle was a good player years before in straight pool and snooker and owned a small grocery store/pool hall in Detroit in the with his dad, my grandpa who was even a better player in the 30s through 50s and told stories of when he would spar with Greenleaf when he came in town for a match. I owned a larger pool room in metro Detroit with my family in the early 90s through 2007, Cornbread came in a few times and i also met many top players during a couple of our big 9ball tournaments.

If you could build your own "Dream Team" who would make the cut?

They do not have to be the "best" or "greatest" players of all-time, maybe they're just five of your favorites...

If you could choose any five pool/billiard players that have ever lived, during their primes, who would you place on your roster? You're also welcome to share your reasoning for your choices.

1. Efren Reyes
2. Lori John Jones
3. Allison Fisher
4. Corey Deuel
5. Shane Van Boening
