Why did they buy a plastic trophy for the winner?

I can't believe they bought one of those plastic trophies that they give out at APA tournaments.

This is such a great tournament, where the IPT has spent lots of money on all the trimmings.I think they should have gone one step further and bought a trophy that represents the professional tour that the IPT is.

Maybe something nice in silver or silver plate from Tiffany or Asprey.
It would have cost a couple of thousand dollars but I think it would have been worth it.

If that is the trophy you are talking about, it doesn't look plastic to me.:p

I think we have the champions as Ike Runnels, Jeff Sergent and Ritchie Idrovo.
In back I can see Brandon Ashcraft.

The only ones I know are Ike & Brandon. :)

I'm pretty sure InsidePOOL took this photo since they're providing coverage. InsidePOOL has a thread on their forum inviting folks to request pics of their favoite players and they will take photo's of that person and post them. I currently have a post in there inquiring about the trophy. ;)

As long as they use good paper when they pay out I don't think any player will mind.

As for the trophy it is solid silver with an actual cost of $17,000.

I stand corrected.
According to Linda and her photos the trophy is made from pure silver.

I thought it looks like it's made from a combination of hard plastic, some kind of tinny metal and wood.
