Why Do I Play Lights Out when I Drink?

I play a lot better when I've had a few, it loosens your stroke up, however I've had just one GTo (Gin and Tonic) too many and made a complete ass of myself too. There's a fine line between shooting lights out and stumbling around talking to yourself, hassling people, bumping into shit and laughing your ass of for no reason

Not being able to compete without your drug makes a guy feel pretty wimpy. In fact that IS wimpy!

You think too much when you are soberish. And it is that overthinking that causes you to second guess or even worse become undecided on the correct way to play a particular shot, so you end up doing a little bit of both in turn and you either miss the shot and get shape of make it and screw yourself, or worse both. My advice is to practice playing sober, and practice being 100% committed to each shot, if it looks different to you when you get down and ready yourself to shoot, get up and rethink it then get down and hit it.

I must admit that I was quite the "smoker" in my college days........it honestly elevated my one pocket game...and it elevated me! LOL
I could see deeper in the game and simply enjoyed playing more. I was much more relaxed and I all cared about was playing some one hole.
